: Red/Black Simulated Leather Seat-covers.

From Advance Auto Parts, Elegant brand, Razor #329219S. Very few of these slip-on covers fit very well....these do. In fact, most people would think these things are a custom fit. Bought them off-the-shelf for $19 ea. The only give-away....one strap visible when you open the door. This could be routed behind the plastic trim with a little work.
I've been trying to add a little color to my white ZX5, with silver/black interior. These covers did it. [:)]

Why not route the strap under the seat?
06-20-2008, 05:21 PM
They look really good for just being seat covers. If you hide that strap, it woulda fooled me.

They said I could bring them back if they didn't fit....... Out of the box there were creases in the vinyl, which came out after about three days in the summer heat. I didn't want to hurt anything, so I installed that strap as shown. Getting it under the plastic will require loosening that trim piece....which I didn't want to do till I was sure I'd keep them.
So....another little project.

i think you just sold me on those do they have a rear seat one...and what colors do they come in
06-20-2008, 06:14 PM
The store only had a few covers for lo-back buckets (with the separate head-rest covers). These red ones were the only I saw. I went on the Advance web-site, but couldn't find them at all. They have hundreds of different covers...but few with separate head-rest covers.
Perhaps you could find them at the mfg. site (Elegant).
Oh....didn't see any for the rear. I've got my whole rear seat covered with a heavy black blanket. I carry stuff back there.

Here they are in three different color combos..... Link (http://aid-auto.stores.yahoo.net/ralowbaseco.html) Didn't see any rears however....

That's actually not bad at all. Looks good man. And yeah, looks like you won't need to take them back so work on getting that strap hidden

Follow-up....I managed to route the visible strap behind the plastic seat trim without taking anything loose. Looked a lot worse than it turned out to be. You just need a flash-light to see under the seat. I'm happy now...[cool]
In case anybody is wondering....there are six straps for the edges of the lower seat cover section, and one large piece that pulls through the gap between the upper and lower seat. This is attached with two more straps. And the very back section that covers the entire rear of the seat-back cushion, has two more straps.
When you install these covers, you can vary tension by stretching the straps, adding some extenders (like very small bungee cords), or tying knots in the straps (to shorten them). The straps come with little metal hooks, and there are a number of places under the seats to attach them. How well these things fit depends on how careful you are.....but they are a very good fit out of the box. The under-side of these covers has a material that doesn't slip around on the stock leather seats that are now covered up. Check out the price of a single piece of Ford leather seat covers......you'll get a set of after-market covers immediately.

woah, that looks very nice. i think i'll order a set soon. you jsut solved my ugly seat problem ( the fabrics all faded funny)
06-23-2008, 02:04 AM
those have to be the best looking seat covers i have seen good find
06-23-2008, 06:22 AM
Over the years I've seen a few covers that looked good....but very few. My only concern is about fading. It will happen if you park in the sun a lot, and red is the worst for fading. But I suspect at least three years before it gets too bad. If anybody gets some of those other color combos....please post pics. Here they are with the strap hidden...
If you cannot get a good fit It would be easy enough to add a few extra straps....using "hog rings" on the edge seams and additional straps. Slip-on seat covers will never fit as well as the factory covers, but these are close.

As old as this thread is, thanks for the info!
Those look great.
How is the vinyl as far as feel? Does it feel cheap?
06-20-2009, 09:14 AM
Nope.....it feels and looks great. That first set in the thread can be had online for cheap bucks. Advance Auto doesn't carry them anymore......the stores around here anyway.

Here's what I got on eBay:
My only complaint is I wish they were more form-fitting to the seats, and I had a problem with making holes for the headrests on the fronts, and the middle seatbelt part on the backseat. Had to iron on black patches to keep the tears from running and spreading more. Overall a good purchase. Can't beat $40 for a whole seat. I like the style of mine better, but wish they were as form-fitting as yours.
EDIT: Oh, and btw, I got that backseat better fitted, so now it's not so loose and has creases and whatnot. Looks a lot better than in that pic.
