mine is original. I havent had any problems with it. it was replaced under warrenty though. They also did the pigtail

Curious, why the alt. failed when technically the JRSC didn't do anything that would effect it?
Are you sure the pigtail isn't the real problem?
Or, are you chumming bearings due to a different load on the pulley?

i have been wondering this to it has happened to people before i guess its jsut overspinning the poor thing and it didnt like it. i dont know but it is dead and i need a new one. im gonna try a factory amp one a duralast brand that i can get at autozone 174.00 with core charge and hopefully it holds up if not then i now know it wont. if anybody else has swapped them due to jrsc let me know please.

DON'T get duracrap...acutally buy a nicer qualitt alt with lifetime. I got mine from napa and paid the same price with core for a lifetime. a little less without lifetime and i think it was around 156esh from napa.
it's a pita to change the alt with the jrsc so get an alt thats gonna last you a while atleast.

Get a Carquest one they have liftime warranties and are good quality. At my work we usually get a USA brand since they have a liftetime warranty from out main vender over here.
