Just what it says, I have a new boot (oem) coming tomorrow, and i need to know how to change it. I saw someone said something about just having to bow the insert where the boot wraps around at the base, instead of having to take out the whole console. is this true? do you just use a screwdriver, and pry it out?

i think you can take it out just like the shifter boot.

pinch along the sides where it flexes (long sides) and try to wiggle/pop it out. Then turn it inside-out and gently pull it over the handle

i got it! thanks guys. it is now changed out. pics soon! just need to pop out the back part, and it comes right out.
