My SVT Shifts very hard when I am Driving hard, Sometime I can't even get it into gear. Shifts fine when I drive "Nicely". It has the Wieght removed. That was removed a couple owners ago and I do not have that. I also pulled the heater core hose up and out of the way. The 4th gear Sinc ros is bad. I will be putting a new Trans in it but it drives fine and everything but the shifting is Pi55ing me off[chair]

Would there be a shift linkage bad??

Thanks,
Pat

The shift cables may be out of adjustment, but most likely you need a new rear motor mount. I know before I put my rear motor mount in, the car almost never wanted to go into second when shifting hard. Also, try replacing the tranny fluid with royal purple synchromax. Made a big difference for me, especially in cold weather.

The one on the Cat was replaced just before I bought it also. But the way it sounds it could be tightened. But I will check the Rear motor mount.

If it makes a loud clunk noise the mount needs to be replaced

Hey if you're putting a new trans in the car, why don't you put an MTX 75 5 speed in there with a limited slip differential??? I bet the SVT would scream with that transmission.

I believe a local guy had done that. A little more work than I want to do.. I think they were saying that you would have to change to wire plugs axl shafts some mounts and what not. I would think about it a little more but kinda want to keep the SVT "Stock" I have thought about a Superchager it would be Sweet but inthe same way I want ot keep it the way it is.

I got it for what I believe is a killer price $3400 with 50,000 miles. It needs mecanical repairs, and body work. But it drives alright for what it needs I think I got a Steal on it![wrenchin]

I'll have to post some Pictures of it....

I haven't heard any clunks or bangs. It just feels like somthing is keeping me from quick shifting. I shift easy it goes in easy. [driving] [angel] I shift quick it doesn't want to go into gear. [driving] [rant] It doesn't grind at all except for 4th gear of course "bad sinc roe"

I have a 07 Dura 5spd and that shifts just great for me. "For those of you who think I can't drive a MTX" My first vehicle I drove and learned how to drive in was a MTX.

Yeah I totally understand wanting to keep it stock. You may still want to consider an LSD while the tranny is down and everything.

My 4th car was an MTX...I actually liked that transmission better than the one in my SVTf. It just seemed....easier..while also seeming heavier duty.

Its not any more heavy duty than the GETRAG

also with an MTX it would be a horrible autox car which is what its designed for

Would this problem posibly some type of cable? I'm trying to find the problem but no sucess so far I have also notice the clutch position sensore was taped. I removed that to see if would help any didn't notice any change mybe a little but that might be in my head. I will have to adjust the cables this weekend hopefully that might fix it.

I have my clutch position sensor ziptied down. I've driven a considerable amount with it on and off and I prefer having it ziptied. It just seems to make the transition from standing still to moving much more smooth. I wouldn't tape it though, becuase it could pop loose if it gets warm. Drive it both ways and see how you like it but I can almost guarantee you'll prefer having it removed. I also know there is a "brown wire" somewhere that can be clipped and tape to permanently fix the problem, but I have yet to find it.

Sounds like a bad cable.

I'm hopeing I can have a guiy take a close look at it he's a FRPP sales Manager for ford. He also owns a SVTF. Hope he can find something. When shifting quick It does not go into 2nd or 3rd I don't even try the rest of em. I will be doing the "dog bone" eventually along with the rest of the mounts.

sounds more like a stock svtf. when shifting hard especially 1st to 2nd it's always hard for some reason.

Well The Shifter damper is removed, the clutch sensor was removed I'll proly end up Zip tieing that back up.

I plan on putting the rear poly engine mount in, and a Short shift. Any Short shifter Suggestions?

CFM its adjustable, and it a very high quality piece. I picked it over the Steeda/Ford racing because you can have it go much lower.
