So i found these at a marine store when i was looking for some kayak drain plugs. They were 30 bucks for a box of 2 so i bought it. Plus, i've seen some scary car fire threads on here. It is a type BC, which means it works for flammable liquids and electrical fires..

i'm going to mount it sideways, just forward of the rear seats and in the middle (below the seat bottom) where i can reach it if necessary.. but like focusonmatt said- i hope i never have to use it

I have one riding in the back.
BTW, years ago I worked with a volunteer fireman. He was late for work one day, stopped to help a guy out with an engine fire (wiring and hoses apparently). He only had a small extinguisher, which he quickly used up. He said people kept stopping and handing him more of those little extinguishers, and as soon as one ran out someone handed him another. I think he used up seven of them. Don't know if he got the fire out or just kept things under control until the fire department showed up.
He said he was surprised how many people carry extinguishers...

They should make them mandatory as well as the first aid kit and the reflecting emergency triangle as in a lot of countries in Europe. Mine is also in the back hung underneath the back cover of my HB. Just like others wrote, handy but hope to never have to use it.

Extinguisher and a first aid kit under my passenger seat. Never more than an arms-reach away. I've seen my share of car fires and was almost in one in my old Chevy van (I dropped my cigar, the carpet lit on fire in the driver's side footwell, it melted the wiring under the dash). Another driver with an extinguisher got it put out for me, I was towed, and I bought an extinguisher for each of my family members that night.
As for the guy with it in the trunk, sure, it looks cool, but what happens when you suddenly light on fire? Are you gonna pop the hatch, run around, unmount that, and then start using it? It's a nice-looking and out of the way spot, sure, but it's not practical.
Granted, I absolutely hope you'll never be in a situation where you'd *need* to use one, but if it did happen, just make sure you can get to it as fast as you need to.

^^^ what if the fire starts at the hatch??? lol j/k I hope I never get to use it. I will try to find a better location for it.
So then it doesn't look ricer??
