not trying to b mean or insult you but why do u need a light to remind you to shift? lol i only shift by the sound of the engine and have never missed a shift or went through the power band. just really get to know your car and it will tell you when it wants you to shift.

youv obviously never been to the track when your motors being drown out by a friggin turbo Grand National or race fueld drag car next to you, and where cars almost stray into your lane because they have so much power off the line they get sideways, and you dont see them because your sitting here putting along in your focus trying to make the best run you can........i want the light so i can keep my head up and on the straight and shift perfect....

The shift lamp you're lookin' for is made by PIVOT. Go to: www.pivotusa.com
This company was exclusive and still is with only one company in the whole US and exclusive with only one company in Australia. BUT, the US distributing company just went online retail. This is total quality stuff, and paying the extra cash is worth it.
So, if your just learning your precise shift for race, then check PIVOT out.

You could always get one of these, they do not have that big ol' tach you are talking about. I have seen people put them in the air vents to hide them. They are really bright, so you can still see them even if they are hidden.
