A friend of mine told me that i tune wouldn't be as effective because of the altitude. So i figured i'd ask to see if anyone here bought a tune, and if so is the difference between stock tune and aftermarket tune significant? In other words is worth it to get even with the altitude?

Thanks alot

No idea what your talking about but, yes the altitude effects alot of things on our vehicles so it wouldnt surprise me if it were a waste of money

Oh sorry for the confusion, but by tune i mean the ones that can be custom made with the mods you put on your car, for example "tom's tune". I just wanted to see if anyone in CO had one of "these" tunes, to inform me on what their thoughts were.
Thanks

I'm getting one in the next week or so, I'll let you know how it does, but my guess is that it would still be relatively effective, the parameters changed in the tune should be independent of the adjustments the car makes for the altitude.

Horsepower in general is not going to be as much as at sea level. My 2007 Dodge 1500 with Hemi makes about 50-60 less horsepower in Colorado Springs as opposed to sea level with no changes.

Hey Kettenhund bud, it seems like you're new here, so lemme advise you to look at the dates of threads/posts before replying (The blue banner on the post shows the date). This one for example is from nearly 5 years ago, and you'll catch flak quickly for necro-bumping.
