: sct tune to aggressive for the engine ???
TEAM ST 03-21-2008, 05:43 AM hello,
i have heard the sct tune is a very aggressive tune for the svt engine.
did somebody know about occurrences with a defect engine ?
..i did....
i donīt read from toms tune, i mean the official sct tune.
how many miles do you have drived with the sct tune ?
thank
CT SVT 03-21-2008, 06:09 AM before i went ProCharged, i had the SCT tune in for 1year and i put 10k miles on her, never had a problem. And right now my SVTF is still tuned w/ SCT and still not problems.
ken6x6 03-21-2008, 09:35 AM ^^almost the same as me... tuned with sct back in 06 ran for 40k miles then went PC and still tuned with sct... no problems.

i just dont think that you are driving aggressive enough[;)]
besthaticouldo 03-21-2008, 10:43 AM i run the SCT tune from McNews and ive had about 3k miles on it...its perfect.
TEAM ST 03-21-2008, 11:34 AM i just dont think that you are driving aggressive enough[;)]
hmm....
2 hours or more with 240 and almost by 6.000 rpms are not aggressive ?
did anyone have experience with that kind of driving ?
portlandsvt 03-21-2008, 07:06 PM yea , last weekend, never got past 4th gear going around the track, hit 110, but it was a little wet out.
1turbofocus 03-21-2008, 08:17 PM Get my tune and you wont have to worry about all that
Tom
red02svtf 03-21-2008, 10:40 PM i would have to say that tom's tune would be your best bet.I've had his tune for over a year know and not one problem and is very easy to use.love the tune tom and keep up the good work.
TEAM ST 03-22-2008, 04:54 AM first off all i don´t want toms tune, because i don´t came from the usa.
i would get another tune.
but i am careful with that, because i have heard it that the sct tune is not good for high rpm driving.
i mean no track driving. i mean 2 hours with 6.000 rpms on the "highway"
sleepyboy 03-22-2008, 05:01 AM ^^He's talking about being on the 'bahn. 6000krpms for 2 hrs. strait. That just sounds like fun to me I don't know about ya'll lol
ken6x6 03-22-2008, 08:14 AM when i first got my sct it came with 2 tunes, i had on option of highway or street. do you have that option?
SVT-SAGE 03-22-2008, 03:51 PM I've done about 15min's straight of 6000rpm's, and I have a SCT tune. No problems here except for the fact, It almost wasted half a tank of gas, and it was loud as F-L-uck in the car, lol.
Blivit 03-22-2008, 04:22 PM There is a difference in an "sct tune" and an "sct tune that comes from an sct dealer."
An sct tune would be one of the pre-loaded tune files that comes already loaded on the 9415 strategy flash units (xcal2) or the xcal3/livewire units. This file (only 1) is rather conservative and is safe for all around use. A file from an sct dealer would be totally different and that sct dealers own creation. They would have used sct software to create the file, but the changes would be their own so it may or may not be fine for all around use. You would have to work with the dealer to see if what they are doing is too aggressive for your use.
