Where did you get the SM LEDs?

www.oznium.com sells PLCC-2 SMD LEDs. However they are 6 week back ordered on blue. :( http://www.oznium.com/plcc-2

Be carrefull, hard job... miniature soldering. BE CARREFULL WITH side led of the lcd display, i make dammage for take out the side led, no way to do perfectly! i have repair the connection by other junctions... for all the other, just take your time!

i practice on an old radio oem 00 controls defect.. so i practice and complete finnally on mine.

Next step... but you know cluster is an green pellicule. but the thing is i will check for take an defect cluster or try to purchass another one to practice. Because an cluster with no tach, lol!

There's another thread in this forum about interior LED color changes. I need to duck in there again and see if I can get the mods to sticky it. Its not the best, but it gives a pretty good overview. 6 weeks until the lights ship from Oznium ... but once I can get some I will do it ... and probably photograph and do a walk through. I just won't be doing radio, since I no longer have the OEM headunit.

Electrics Windows swith:
it use an 3mm del 3volt. Already an resistence intalled. Just remplace an green 3mm del to an 3mm ultra blue 3volt del. Cutted the led less close of the del, because the original del was soldered by electrics soldering method.

Headlight switch:
samething. 3mm del 3volt. Unsoldered the green one, and installed an blue one. Took about 8 dels... i mix with red for headlight and dimmer fonction, to be more various colors.

Oem Radio:
Took an SMD (Surface Mounth del's) originally are green. Unsoldered the green one, and soldering an blue one purchass over ebay, because they have only red one in electronics supply store here in montréal, canada.

So, for the lcd screen they are Side Mounth del. I use Surface mounth too. But to unsoldered, it's complicated. I have dammaged the circuit contact to try to take out thoes side dels. but i have soldered an wire and follow the diagram and take directly the contact for thoes contact are dammaged and correct everything.

All lot of precision for soldereing thoes small Surface mounth del. It's miniature.... verry miniature! A long job... and double test all del after installing. Sometimes, one or two can burn with the high tempeture of the soldering.

It took about 26 smd dels. Just the lcd screen took 8 if i remember. Plus all the other bottoms!

Next step, cluster gauges. I try to find in KM/H priority for here in canada. I found only in mph one. I have seen one before but i need to make research to find out who can customed ordered. I remember one can do this. Not sure speedhut.com but i will make my research soon, because it's the next step i will do to fit all the other inside modifications.

Seriously, i have no camera... before yes, but not now. Interior was not finish. I do only the windows electric switchs, heaglith switch, oem radio, and left the cluster, heat/ac controls and central transmission control left. So i have a lot of thing to do for the project done.

The OEM radio was too complicated. I have some bugs sometimes. The screen freeze for an couple of seconds on starts, after heat ok, radio full control. It's only the lcd screen thoes that. It's because when unsoldered the Side Mounth Del's, it was solered on the bottom. So You can't really unsoldered without making damage on the circuit. I found a way to take out, but it damage sometimes some contact. After you need to sodered manually jonctions. Some dels are connected in series, so... lol!!

The Headlights switchs and windows switch, are a good job and easy to work. The most complicated step will be the cluster, clim and heat controls...

The clusters not too hard and the hvac isnt too hard either. there are four #74 twist in led you have to get and theres I believe four surface mount leds you have to get for the a/c button and the defrost button! Not really too hard!
