I'm looking at getting a mtx tranny to replace my getrag if/when it goes
I'm not saying the getrag is going out but i've looked around and the mtx75 is cheaper and more readily availible than the getrag and i want to be prepared if something happens (that, and i'm bored [:D])
If i swap to this transmission will i need the regular zetec clutch/flywheel or will i need the svt setup? are the axles the same? the shift linkage? motor mount?
any help would be appreciated

I'm interested in this too.. Isn't the MTX-75 stronger than the getrag?

You would need the Zetec flywheel, they both use the same clutch I believe, but the axels are different and lower engine mount bracket, other than that it should bolt right up, ohh and maybe the linkage someone else would have to verify that though, and maybe the shifter too.

Well in theory it should work, if you can go MTX-75 to Getrag then it stands to reason that you can go Getrag to MTX-75. You'll need the transmission wiring harness too, the sockets are a different shape between the two but the harness is interchangeable. You'll probably need some custom tuning so the computer doesn't freak out when it can't find the second layshaft...that was a problem when Jeremy (former owner of Focus-Salvage) swapped a Getrag into a regular Focus; the Zetec ECU couldn't understand the signals coming from both layshafts and they had to do some tricky tuning to make the ECU understand the signals...the SVT ECU is going to be expecting two signals and will only get one.
When you add everything up it might be cheaper in the end to just get another Getrag...
