Ok.... the old show was lame. It was great when I was a kid, but like The A-Team, it just doesn't have the same satisfaction as newer shows. It will end up being a flop like the re-make of the Dukes of Hazzard. Probably more than that if it doesn't have Jessica Simpson to help with marketing. Less than a year, the movie will be on TV with commercials.

and yeah...not having the hoff is strange. i'm only 20, so only seen reruns of the original, lol, but even i can say the same about the hoff. he's supposed to make a camio somewhere in this movie though, haven't seen him yet. and eh...agreed that the shelby is different as compared to the trans am...but a g8? it'd have taken a lot of more custom body work to make a good looking kit out of a g8. think the shelby is a better kit than the g8 would've been.

true to the exposure for the g8 having been a boost if it'd have happened. but who's to say that gm had a choice? most likely it was more on the creators of the movie.

and yes, this is supposed to be a one-off, made for tv movie. not an extended length premier to a new show.

still though, not a half-bad tv movie. got quite a few one-liners, lol. "please stop yelling before you get us all killed." lol, pretty calm for a guy who's still got no clue what's going on.

and i do like some of the pics i've seen for the g8 gxp coupe, good looking car, not really all that different from the design of the defunct gto. and it probably would've been a good boost. had they still had a gto, i think they'd have gotten it. but i'm sure the creators chose the shelby while trying to choose a sports car. a hot rod camaro wouldn't have been a bad idea.

I must be old... threw in the Mad Max reference and no one blinked an eye. I watched Knight Rider when I was a kid... thought it was stupid as a kid too.

The only redeeming aspect was that it made far a great Mad Magazine parody.

It wasn't a bad little movie...I mean i watched the movie expecting it to be pretty bad already but it was ok for a made-for-tv movie.

Getting off topic from the show a bit...did anyone see the 3 commercials of Mike tracer going on a date and having the jealous KITT follow him?

Lol, i found it pretty amusing that he picked the focus as his date car and left the Stang behind. Must've been to promote the Focus even more so then they did in the movie and to show off it's nifty little features.

Anyway, I'm 36 and grew up watching Knight Rider, bad acting and all, I loved this tv movie and wish they would make it a series. Can't be any worse than all the other crap on tv.

Yeah, LOL, that's how you knew they were bad guys, only bad guys drive something other than a Ford product. The chase scene from the library was hilarious, I was like "Ford, Ford, Ford, Land Rover (owned by Ford), Ford, Volvo (ALSO owned by Ford), Ford truck!" The FBI agent even drove a Ford Escape.

I guess as a child watching the original TV series, it wasn't so obvious that everything was a GM product (but it was - Pontiac Firebird, GMC big-rig, Cadillacs for Devon Miles).

That's what I said at first, too. They could've gone with the GTO, but that's on its way out the door, too. I suppose an '09 Camaro could have filled the spot, which would have allowed the show to use the original KITT voice actor since GM has him under contract.

The Mustang wasn't bad, though. Good for Ford, at least.

Ha, that would have rocked! Too bad. Val Kilmer as KITT sucked, although according to the wiki article he was a last-minute replacement for Will Arnett. Was I the only one who had trouble even making out what KITT was saying?

i think it sucked.. i didn't watch all of it but it had no acting in it at all.. the focus commercials were the best part.. and the mustang is cool too

Sure it's a custom, but Shelby built all of the GT500s. It still wears the Ford badge.

To hell with the old Knight Rider... I was watching something cheesier instead....
