alright plain and simple my trans blew up and my warranty company is declining coverage [?|] [rant] theres nothing i can do to them at all ive called lawyers and all sorts of ppl so i know that thers nothing. and to top it all off the motor is not sounding all that great after everything that happened i need to know out of 2 options wat should i do. looking for cheapest option
1) wat i want to do is do a 302/5.0 swap

if you have the know how and experience and tools... then by all means do the 5.0 swap. It shouldn't be too too expensive depending on if you get freshly built motor. I have no idea on a price range though.

bum deal, that sucks, it would be cheapest to get another svt motor and tranny and put in, i saw a complete 5.0 conversion kit new for i think 10k, could probably piece your own kit together for some where between 1/2 to 2/3 of the cost and that includes a lot of fabrication, heres a place with alot of the things needed for a 5.0 swap, look in products section

do a svt swap in the car, doing a 5.0 swap with eat your pockets away.

never mind it sold.
all the parts (minus driveshaft,rear axle,fuel cell (yeah you need this since the new suspesion sits where the tank would be) trans (c4 auto or a t5 manual) and an engine (anywhere frome a 289 to a 426 cubic inch 351 windsor screamer) will run you roughly 5000 bucks. the parts are at kugelkomponents.com
this means you will have to have a new rear 8.8 out of a mustang (they tell you which one will fit) and have the axles set up to use the focus 4x108 bolt pattern. its not that bad but your lookign at like 2,000 for an axle with an lsd all ready to go. then a 700 dollar stainless drive shaft for a 63 comet/falcon (dimensionally it should fit) the c4 can be had for swap meet prices if you do it right. or buy a built one for 3,000. a t5 is roughly the same. the engine can be anywhere from a 2,000 dollar buddy buy all the way to at least 10 k for a mill that can send you into orbit.
dont let the numbers discourage you though. v8 foci an out hustle a vette at the drag strip. and hook better with 4 people in the car,lol. (alway remember fatter people in back for proper weight transfer please...)
