i dont know if any one has thought of it but i wonder if an adapter kit has been made to bolt the 13b out of an rx8 or 7 to the stock zx3 manual tranny to keep it front wheel drive, or mabe doing a rear wheel drive swap and dropping one in, there light weight, and have good upgrades, what does every one think of this idea, kind of crazy but lots of fun

They actually aren't all that light weight, in fact from what I have read the guys that swap LS1s into their RX-7s actually improve weight distribution.

you want to swap an engine in that'll blow up easier?

this was just a crazy thought, i know any thing is possible to do as far as fabrication goes, but still just a thought, i would rather have a focus

its possible... ive seen everything from a 4.6 supercharged v8 to a Nissan RB26DETT strapped in a focus... and the gtr skyline motor (26dett) included the awd drivetrain...
yes its possible... just depends on how deep your pockets are

i agree a rotary would be the shit in out cars. (especially wit hthe wicked high redline) as for blowing them up. jsut dont be a tardmo and add too much boost to a stock motor.

i have a friends who has now owned two rx7's a second and a third gen, and they are not very reliable. and u would have to worry about heat. they make so much freakin heat its not even funny. as for power, his second gen was bone stock and it could never keep up with my car, now the third gen being the tt model has not problem with the department of making power. i would say it would be possible but there are just alot of bugs that you would have to work on with them.

sounds like they had been beat up before he got them. IF i was going to do a rotary swap i'd build a brand new 3 rotor. with a decent sized single turbo. and the heatt thing can be solved with a vader styled hood. it would jsut be an exersize in wierdness and it would be a blast to get a frankenstien like that onto a drift track and see it work.

i definatly agree there, it would be a blast just cost a bit to do the swap, i have a friend that has a 1st, 2nd and 3rd gen rx7 all are very reliable, just depends on how they are driven if abused any motor will have issues, his 3rd gen is a twin turbo can light tires up at 50mph, i was thinking the rx8 rotory would be nice, 240hp stock non turbo

does any one know how hard it would be to bolt the mtx75 to the 13b? if so it would be pretty bad ass to keep it front wheel drive.

nah make it rear wheel for drift and rally fun. (plus huge show points if you use cobra irs)

it would be sweet to keep it front wheel drive, but i cant find any sort of an adapter online any where, that would be a lot of custom frabrication to bolt them together, would be easiest to swap to rwd, i was thinking of using rx7 rear suspention but the cobra irs would be sweet and keep it handling good at the same time
