Yeah you would need to get a cluster to fit the 00 -04.. with the tach EBAY... and then its a direct replacement... its not hard..

This is an easy mod to do. After you unbolt the trim, there are just 4 bolts holding in the cluster, and a wire harness on the back side. There are some guidlines that you need to remember though.
Only certain models will fit your 03 SPI. You'll need to look for a 2000-2004 cluster from a Zetec. Any cluster out of a Duratec will not work. I'm not sure if a cluster from an SVT will work or not, but in theory it's a version of the Zetec, so maybe. I'd look for a 2003 or 2004 because the mileage will be closer to yours.
Also, when you change the cluster the mileage will not be the same. It will read the current mileage of the car it was pulled from. You could find one with slightly higher mileage and switch it out when yours is equal to it, but that might take 20k miles if you can't find one that is close to yours. So it's up to you. The cluster I have has 34K miles less than the car, so I just noted it in teh owners manual if I ever decide to sell it. THat way, at least it's disclosed.

No prob. What part of WA are you in??
I've lived in Federal Way, Maple Valley, and McChord Air Force Base out there. There are so many things I miss about that place...[goofydrunk]

I hear there are problem with cluster changes if the doner car had different features. For example would this work? I have a SPI with a MTX, but the cluster I'm looking at come from a car with a ATX. Will this work, or will I have lights on my dash all the time? [???:)]

if you do have lights that just come on, all you need to do is put electricians tape over them. This thread is ancient btw, you should have just made a new one.
