How Come Focaljet will not allow anyone to post about focusfest? Is there some kind of bitter rivalry between the two forums or what?

It makes sense. They are like 2 companies for the Focus community and they do their own events. I would say that they compete but not really. I saw that post tho lol. I barely post on there I read for knowledge.

I only go there to see what's for sale in the BST section. Other than that, I don't like the atmosphere over there. This is my home.

Yeah, amen to that. It's always a who's got the biggest Pen15 over there. Talk about social disorder at it's finest. That's all I've got to say because this is definitely going to get locked if it gets turned into a bashing session.

It makes sense. They are like 2 companies for the Focus community.

Actually by doing so it only ends up hurting the Focus community in the long run. Instead of pulling large gatherings for both events, it boils down to one site versus the other.

When they had their event I've instructed the moderators on our site to let their posts stay up. Its too bad their insecurities and lack of leadership dictate their actions. I'll make sure this time we'll extend the same level of courtesy they have generously given us.

I think I speak for most members on here that we are well mannered on focusfanatics.com than focaljet.

Focaljet? What's that? [;)]
By blind luck I tripped across this forum first [clap], and, well, what can I say, the knowledge and courtesy here make it rather pointless to go looking any place else. Besides, I've gotten used to all the freaks here (j/k!)

Kudos to everyone behind (and in front of!) FF!

i would have to a agree with the above that this site is better and has a better atmosphere. On fj it just seems as if it is a pissing contest. they are currently bashing toms tune there right now. i mean i know that some treat him as a god but he does know he stuff and has alot of experience. tom has even reccomended other tuners for the focus as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree the lameness of not allowing the talk of focusfest over there. I've been pm'ing with some of the members over there who have attempted to start focusfest threads and keep getting remarks from moderators over there, saying that at this time they're not allowing it. These users and I have been talking about focusfest and are stoked. I've got a couple of them helping out with our caravan!

And that's right, all the separation between two sites does is hurt the focus community. Screw who's who and on what site. It's like Southside Los Angeles. Just a big gang war.

And I'm sick of posting something up there and immediately having my thread jacked up from some mod saying what I can't do. I feel like big bro is always watching me there. They have more rules about what you CAN'T do then anything else.

NCedillos

Well that sucks even more if what Tom said is true about FF helping to promote their previous events and then they reject any mention at all about Focus Fest. I like some ppl on FJ but for some reason I love this forum a lot more.

The part where you mention about the gang wars thing is 100% true. I only went to the website to see what it looks like then like 30 seconds I immediately got out of there; it's like a trash talking convention on that forum, that would only ask a simple question on how to put a cai on there focus w/o having 8 billion curse words flying in your direction.

The funny thing is they had an entire thread saying how they we're going to allow it, then they removed the thread and started deleting post. It only hurts there image to behave in this type of manor.

that's another thing. fj has more confusing titles for new users. names of sections should be clear and easy to navigate. just a thought

I will say that i have over 1600 posts here and like 1100 over on the jet. This is my home and my number one site for the focus but focal jet does offer some insight on things. When it comes down to it i take all the sponsors threads and info with a grain of salt but they do have a few very knowledgeable suspension guys, and a few good boost guys..we also have that though..I basically use both of the sites. I look at a question on this site and see the responses then i go there and see some of their responses to a simular issue..i think that if everyone did that and Focaljet could aknowledge thats the best way to learn than there would be no issue. I like to get as much info as i can from as much people as i can before i call it a fact..thats why both sites have helped me. But at the end of the day FF is my home and FJ is my vacation home.

I don't care much for FJ either. I don't like the way the site is set up, I don't care for the people there much, and its just not as friendly enviroment as here. FF is my home (and home page) and FJ...well its just a once in a while thing. I have ~700 posts here, and I don't think I've broken 40 posts over there.

Well, I was the original moderator on this site. I found this site right after it went up. Shortly after discovering it I created a post on FJ about it and was reprimanded. The PM I received was ridiculous at best. I didn't visit that site for a few years because of it. I think FJ is a little better than it used to be but it's still not anywhere near the caliber of this site.

I've never been to Focaljet. I was looking for some Focus OEM 16 spoke alloy wheels and this was the first location that popped up on Google. So I joined and started posting so I could get 25 posts to qualify for the Buy-Sell-Trade threads. It didn't take long to discover the wealth of information and the friendly people that are here. I was hooked. Oh, and I found a set of wheels for a great price.

Thanks Tom, you created an awesome site![headbang][loveff] [ffrocks]

i think more then friendly, alot of us have become good friends

but only time i went on the jet was to try to buy a turbokit for my spi, i didnt get it, and i hate how that site is layed out, and a lot of the members are dicks, and carlisle i met a few of them FJ nuts and they were pretty rude to me, and didnt care what i had to say about my car or mods, only their own, even tho my cars wasnt their, and they only looked at other FJ members rides, LIKE WTF!!! not all of em but a good handful of em, its pretty lame when you cant get together with other foci owners and just have a good time and bs and such, its a shame really

I've been over there, I was on there first but there are too many D-Bags and the atmosphere is just not good. Now don't get me wrong, there are some decent members like machfive, cwczx3, pirhanna, bri, and hal from the Mid-Atlantic. I'll still visit over there but FF is my home.

I just wish we could all get along. I've always hated the rivalry between the 2 sites.

With that said, I've always preferred this site more. I did join the 'other site' first and after being told I was basically 'retarded' because I just posted up my opinion on someone's wheels I left and found this place and here I stay. I do tend to go over there and browse their Off-Topic more but that's about it and our ROTM is better[:D]
