I just bought my first new car, an 08 S coupe with no options, upon hearing this my father decided that he would buy me some wheels. I would like to be able to autocross the car in H-stock when I have time so I have to stick to stock dimension wheels. Looking on the Ford website it looks like the largest wheels offered on 08s are 16s, does this rule out the 17" SVT wheels from previous years (if they even fit)? I'm looking for a good wheel in the $130/wheel or less range.

H-stock requires a 15" or 16" wheel. Apparently I've heard that this year you must stay with stock size tires as well.
Sport Edition makes some decent wheels for less than 100 a piece and they are not very heavy. I'd recommend General Exclaim UHP's in 205 50 16
edit: 604 dollars on tire rack for the Sport Edition CD's and 205 50 16 General UHPs...
But you'll also need to swap the TPMS sensors over or have a second set of them, or just switch over at the track. and not worry about the TMPS

Wheel offset is also a rules issue in stock classes. That could be a problem with some aftermarket wheel selections. Years ago the SCCA allowed a 1/4" variance (about 6mm) in offset. I'm not sure what the current rule is, so definitely double check this as well.

To my knowledge they still allow a quarter inch variance. Thanks for the responses.

well woodward it would depend on the type of auto x you may be able to get away with 17"s ist only a half inch difference. with a 45 series tire it would still look stock. if you get the 17"s i suggest the euro svt wheels. the 15 spokers look damn hot.

I've decided screw the rules, I'm going with those 17" SVT euro wheels.
