but the focus has 137K miles and she wants to know what the avarage life of a focus is...owner says most miles are highway....she just wants to know what shes getting into before she does it....any help will be appreciated...

What kind of shape is the car in, ask the owner for the maintenece log book/ sheet of paper that says when all the oil changes were done(ect). 137k is a lot of miles, but it could last some time longer, does the car feel loose or anything?

we had a guy at our last g2g had over 140k and theres people on here with more,, so who knows,,,

as long as all the maitnence has been kept up, it should be fine. as with any car.

i have 127K on mine, but i don't know if id buy one with that many.

Depending on the year, I'd make sure all the recalls have been taken care of. I'd also take it to a good mechanic (reputable place) and have them do a thorough look over. If it checks out fine, a Carfax report has been done and it's within the budget, I'd consider it.

X 2 on the 500! i would have her look around because there are millions of foci on the road and im sure she can find one with lower miles for cheap

yes spend the $20 or whatever it is for the carfax....or maybe get an oasis report from someone linked to ford (there are many on here i know)

Yea, i saw zx3_chick doing it for ppl. HMm not sure if she's still doing it. How much for the foci? i saw ppl saying 500? shit i'd buy it and part that thing out when im done riding it, You know. If u think it's cheap, take into consideration how much a new engine/tranny costs (like 800 dollars) lol, as long as you have some mechanic ability and with this forum, i dont really see how u can go wrong man. i have 116K on my Foci. Bad cold startup, thats about it. Still runs strong =) and i need a new waterpump, the pulley is starting to make a screechish noise. but dude!! I WISH MY GIRL WANTED TO BUY A FOCI! omg. lol Like she'd trade in her tank of an SUV for a super FUN FOCI!! =)

I would say a car's life is up to the owner, on how well you maintenance it and so on.
BUT hey glad she's into the focus! YAY!!
