Well...a ballpark figure is about $150, that's what European-Parts quoted when I was kicking around the idea of immediately buying a replacement for my ST170 front that got smashed about a year ago.

I don't know. Assuredly very cost prohibative. Look up the Royal Mail website and find out. One thing though, I've bought a few things over there, and the boxes have all come in beat to..... I'd be pretty leary of trying something as large as a bumper.

True...but there's not many places to get a Euro bumper other than direct from Europe or someone who already has one and is selling it (which is where I got both of the front ST170 and the one rear I've had.)

Well...don't get taken for a ride either, if he's asking for more than $200 its more than likely not all going towards shipping...

What kind of bumper are you looking at?

RULE NUMBER ONE! : never ever ever ever!!! tell a seller you are willing to spend/pay any amount of money needed.... why??? because they will fck you UP!!! he can easily say its $400 when its really $200 with what you just told him!
the seller should have a way of telling you how much the shipping costs to any part of the world... if he doesnt know = HE IS NOT A GOOD SELLER! it doesnt matter if its on ebay or a parts store uin the UK... THEY SHOULD KNOW!

What? Just because he says he is willing to pay however much doesn't mean he's locked into any kind of agreement...

if the guy comes back and says $500, he's allowed to tell him to screw himself.

Would you know how much it costs to send something from Puerto Rico to New Zealand? I don't think many people do off the top of their heads..

He said its coming from the UK...

Based on shipping quotes I've gotten from European-Parts (coming from Germany), I would expect shipping on a bumper to cost somewhere between $150 and 200 unless its being shipped priority or with insurance.

It is obvious he didn’t specify if it’s a private sale or a store sale! I will repeat again what I said so you can better understand! Most of the hundreds of sellers on eBay or any store thousands of miles away would think if someone wrote them an email desperately saying ill pay whatever for the shipping of a bumper IT IS OBVIOUSE they are going to take that into consideration a bump the price up!
I am not saying that I do that… why? Because I don’t sell shi+ on the web! But if he is buying from a GOOD store or a GOOD private seller they SHOULD have a way to calculate shipping. There is fedex.com, ups.com, usps.com etc…! Not of the top of my head…. But damn! I will sure be using all the available resources.

Fed Ex and UPS's international shipping rates are horrendous...I had to ship a Euro lock cylinder back to Sascha at European-Parts to have him rebuild it and both wanted at least $60 for a package weighing less than a pound, and that was with a 2-3 week delivery time. USPS is much better but I don't think they'll do large boxes, at least not the size of a bumper through international mail. Although it would depend on the post service in the country of origin, not what the USPS asks for.

I'd check with DHL/Deutsche Post, they seem to be the most reasonable.

Do you know where I can get a second Euro lock key? I've checked all the local locksmiths and (obviously) they don't know what the hell the Euro key is..

well i just shipped 2 items to canada in the past month.one was corner lights, and it 5 bucks (small enough regular us postal service mail, and the other was a steeda short ram intake (pipe, filter, hose and clamps) used the us postal service too it was 22 bucks regular service.was no priority offered because they said it could take 10-15 days for the items to clear customs, and priority would be a waste cause it wasnt gonna get thru customs any faster.i havent shipped any bigger items to canada.
i know here with fedx and ups, where they get you is in the packaging dimensions. you can ship a 12x12x8 inch box weighin 30lbs almost anywhere for 20 -25 bucks.they charged 60 for a set of side skirts weighing 10.8lbs (in the box) from here just to ok. and i imagine to canada it will be pricey.

agreed.. i was asking here to know more or less.. but if it's more than abiout 150-200 bucks, i'm not going for it.... and it's a euro bumper with the lights already installed in it, and already painted my bodycolor

trust me i'm smarter than that.. noone's getting fkd up around here..lol

exactly

...he didn’t specify if it’s a private sale or a store sale! ...... someone wrote them an email desperately saying ill pay whatever for the shipping
it's a store that sells salvage parts, not a private seller.

....
and i didn't desperately say anything.
the seller sent me an email saying that it would be a cost fortune to ship.
i answered that pending his answer of how much the actual price would be, i might be willing to pay the shipping

anyways.. after all this, it seems the guy doesn't want to hassle with international shipping, since he hasn't answered my more recent email

This is probably the most likely scenario...he probably figured you'd give up when he said it would cost "a fortune."

Do you know what year/trim level the bumper is off of? You could possibly get one brand-new from European-Parts, desipte the usual set of complaints on here (mostly, "waaa! it took a month for my stuff to come and I want it now!) I've never had any problems getting parts from him.

I would shoot Sascha at E-P an e-mail, just jump on the site and click the "contact us" link and it forwards you to a message form. I've contacted him about a few various parts he doesn't list and he said he was able to get them, I'm sure a lock cylinder would be no problem. If you already have a key he can key the lock to match if you provide him with a good, close-up picture.

ok.. i got answer from the guy and i'm copy-pasting it to get your take on it... here goes:
Hi mate. I'm sorry but i want to keep this bumper as a UK sale only as i have tried to post bumpers before but due to the length of the bumper it is very difficult to get the bumper delivered at a very sensible price. If you can arrange a courier to collect it yourself then that will be OK but i will need the date and time. Many thanks,

i'm not sure.. i know it has the bumper with the top trim in black and the bottom trim in bodycolor... and no vents, so it's not an RS bumper.

i was just really thinking i had a great deal going here.. getting a new one is out of reach..
that would really be a small fortune

Yeah I just need the key, I'm going to shoot him an e-mail. It took him about a month to even get everything ready for me to ship (he said a dealership that cut the keys went out of business, so he had to find somewhere else).

Did he send you 2 keys with your assembly or one? I only got one.
