I wouldn't want the 1000 HP GT, I"ve driven the stock one and it was faster than me. That thing would be terrifying, don't get me wrong. Its awesome, but I wouldn't want it. There is a thing as too much, and that qualifies!! I"ll take it for a nice sunny terrifying weekend , though!

They are pretty darn fast, and since the powerplant is basically a de-tuned cobra engine, with a few bucks and a little modification, they can be made to be VERY fast. 200mph MarkVIII's aren't unheard of. They also sport a very classy, refined, futuristic interior that borders on being a cockpit. For its time, the '97 and '98 MarkVIII's had very foward thinking body lines, and were the showcase of Ford's R&D technological highlights. The 1996 MarkVIII was the FIRST domestic car to feature HID headlights, the FIRST car to get the 4.6 DOHC engine. Pick one up today, 10 years after the last year of production, and if its in good shape, people will ask you if its a new car, since its design was so far ahead of its time. Also, the 98 MarkVIII was only 14,000 units deep, making them as rare and exclusive as the "highly coveted" (on this site at least) SVT Focus..

he he he, see fella, people like myself make our own opinions based on real life experience, in the case of cars, I base my opinions on cars based on actually seeing them in person, driving them, and talk about owning cars that I actually am capable of owning, such as the MarkVIII, which I could go out and buy today, with cash, but it is not practical for me right now to own more than 1 vehicle. Because, I live in the real world, not behind the keyboard or clutching a video game controler.

negative. the lincoln engine didnt have forged internals. it also had higher compression. theres no way that car had that low of compression and ran like that. the only similarities they shared were they were both 4.6L 32v quad cam engines.

sure didnt. the veyron actually costs over 4 million dollars per car to build. they built 300 of them and sold them for a little under 1.5 million each. they take huge cuts with those cars. i havent heard about the reliablity issues with these (aero TT) cars but it doesnt look like something you would daily drive.

No one has beaten the Veyron's official top speed by completing the testing. There are a few cars in the works, but Aero TT is not one of them as it would fall apart long before it hit 252 MPH.

EDIT: Just read the Wiki, it is the fastest...how embarrassing for the Veyron and anyone seen driving an Aero TT (cause that car is OUT THERE).

Build is going slow because i picked up a new toy (2008 Shelby GT-500) but i did get a 302 engine block for it. I'll pick up the pace once spring rolls around.

Cars were just absolute masterpieces in that era.

The obvious winner is the Shelbys, doesn't matter which one, but the AC Cobra or the Daytona Coupe are the best IMO. I like the Daytona Coupe the best but in the summer i get to drive the AC whenever it's nice out (it's nice to have a dad who likes cars)
