[mecry]
Water pump and pulley gave out, since the pulley wasnt spinning, it started to shred the belt. Since I have to replace the pump, all new coolant is going to be needed.
Im just glad i wasnt far from the dealer when it happened. Not bad for my first major problem after 110k.

Did you replace the timing belt at the recommended 100k? I need to do that soon. ARe you replacing things yourself? I heard on the Zetec 2.0 that it's not that difficult to do yourself with the correct tools (which I also heard aren't that expensive).

no i havent done the belt, I would replace things on my own, but I had to go out of town today. great timing[thumbd]
If thats any indication of wear and tear, you NEED to do the timing belt, tensioner and idler.

usually you do all three at once. makes things easier cuz you wont have to tear it apart later.

It's preventative maintenance to replace the timing belt at this point in time on his car though Matt...better to do it now than to have it break a week from now...

The belt has to come off anyway to replace the other parts. Your mechanics would be plain stupid not to replace it.
