HEy guys, my brother just got a new 04 Ranger 4x4 with the 4.0 v6, now I know they have lots of perfomance upgrade stuff available for the 4.0 but now that I'm lookin I can't seem to find all the websites...

Intake, exhaust Tuner,mounts ignition and possible FI applications... anything that would make it more fun [grinking]

I have the same motor and who told you there are a lot of performance mods out there? There are a few mods out there and there is a supercharger made for our motors but without a tuner it's 4300 bucks and with it's near 5 grand. I'd say intake and a nice free flowing exhaust maybe removing a CAT or two will liven her up a bit. These motor are not fast, they have major pulling power and gobbs of low end to pull things, to climb over trails and whatnot.

Those are the places I used to frequent when I had my rangers. ORR and R-F are the ones that I seemed to get the most info from for 4x4 stuff and RPS for performance stuff. the ranger station has been up in the air lately, some drama between the owners and mods or something, but a lot of good tech write ups.

im in da same boat as ur brother but i got a 95 ranger splash wit the 4cylinder kinda sucks and most of the headers n shit made for the rangers i heard were poorly made like the paceceter header i heard that thing was a waste of money

I'll never for the life of me understand the obsession to make a truck "fast". Trucks are for work. They are designed to have torque so they can pull things, and go through snow and mud. The idea that people put all kinds of mods on their truck just because they can is totally lost on me.
But that's me. I wouldn't mod my truck, and part of the reason is because I don't really even like my truck :)
Anybody want to buy a Dakota RT with HO 4.7L??
