: Newbie's 2005 ZX3 Adrenalin
GuySmiley 01-02-2008, 07:39 PM Hey there, just wanted to share some pics of my new ZX3. I needed a commuter car and came home with this. Its got most of the avaiable options from what I can tell. I am fairly new to these cars so I will be asking alot of question.
The good is that it was cheap, its got leather, in dash 6 pack cd/mp3 player, factory Sony speakers, sunroof and some add on extra goodies.
The bad is that the battery and ABS light are on (I don't think it even has ABS), coolant resivoir is full of gunk, its missing a piece on the lower bumper beside the muffler, the muffler is too big and welded to the car (very annoying). I think with a little bit of love I can make it run and look good.

BTW, if this is a Z-tech engine shouldn't it say it on the valve cover?
Godzukidan 01-02-2008, 07:49 PM It is a Duratec motor. It is a 2.0 with 136 hp stock. With the short ram intake and the exhaust you are probabley around 145 hp at the flywheel. The Duratec is a very good motor. And as far as a daily driver you cant go wrong with it. I hope you have good luck with her. And welcome to focus Fanatics!
RsDriver24 01-02-2008, 07:52 PM looks good except the exaust get a borla or magnaflow or even cosworth
Stuka 01-02-2008, 08:22 PM Looks lowered, what kit did they use?
And man, you gota ditch the fart can :P They look sooo bad at an angle like that.
I like the color a lot though.
Kayak_man 01-02-2008, 08:28 PM Looks pretty good...Welcome to FF
focusin 01-02-2008, 08:32 PM Looks like the past owner took the diffuser out of the back bumper to fit the fart can. What the hell is wrong with people, other than the melon launcher I don't think its TOO bad.
GuySmiley 01-02-2008, 09:34 PM Ya, I agree 110% on the fart can, I am one of those guy's who makes fun of other guys with them, and this guy did a real hack job putting it in. First I will need to find that piece that goes in the rear bumper, then I will search around on the site to see what everyone else is using, any suggestions?
I have only driven it home and have not had a chance to dig to deep into it yet. I was quite impressed on how fast it did go though.
Later
focusin 01-02-2008, 09:38 PM I run focus sport exhaust, look at post # 2 on this thread http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=144253
Thats a few videos of the exhaust.
Can you get me a better shot of your header? I can't seem to tell if its aftermarket or if the heatshield is just removed.
Postmanbob 01-02-2008, 10:02 PM Welcome to the adrenalin club i have one to.
GuySmiley 01-06-2008, 09:44 PM The more I look into this car the more I find out what a hack the previous owner was. It looks like he cut the springs to lower it as well so now I am in the process of tracking down some springs. The car does have ABS so I am trying to figure out the possible issue for the light to come on.
Focusin, you called that back piece a "diffuser", is this a part that I can pick up from ford as I could not find one used. And here is a better pic of the header.
Thanks for the welcomes

focusin 01-06-2008, 09:52 PM Ok thats a stock header, yes the part in the rear is called a diffuser. You can go to the dealer or for a better deal talk to b16sir1991 in the hilbish ford forum for a better deal.
Grumpy 01-06-2008, 10:41 PM You are missing the stock header heatshield. I would obtain one before the heat of an Alberta summer. There is also a firewall component heatshield on some cars that could be an option for you. Mine only has the header heatshield. Your "Adrenalin" sure has different options from mine. There must have been different option packages available. My May '05 assembly date (Mexico) "Adrenalin" has no moonroof, no cruise, no leather and the 15" alloys. I was happy just to get the AC, the tach, and the SES suspension (I bought it used). It does have the leather wrapped SW and the Audiophile system. What you appear to have there, except for the unpainted rear hatch trim and door handles, is equivalent to a fully loaded ZX3 SES which was not available in Canada after '04.
1stTimeFocus00 01-06-2008, 11:36 PM It looks like that car is gonna be some work. But i think your gonna make it into a good looking car.
