I just wanted to see how many of us out there are still making payments on their Fofo.

I payed mine off last year.[wiggle]

I have had it for two 2 years, so 3 years to go. Except I probably won't have it that long.

Paid mine off about two years ago. From that moment until the moment the car dies it's all "profit" for me - repairs. Even if I was spending $1,000 a year on repairs, it's still the cheapest alternative to buying a new car. My payments on the Fofo were $240/mo so that's about $2,880/yr. Any car I'd want to buy now would have a payment WAAAAY higher than that.

Mine's been paid off for close to a year, but I'm moving onto a MS3 soon. Surprisingly my payments for the MS3 will be WAY cheaper than my Fofo payments since I'll be bringing in a big downpayment and my Ford as a trade in. It is nice to have the car paid off fully though, plus money saved on insurance by just getting liability only is great!

Mine's been paid off for like 4 years now.
I paid mine off within a year of getting it.
Its nice owning my car 100%. It is even in my name.
I've had it since I was 16, and I'll be 21 in a few days.
I also paid for it by myself........

it's a 2000 and very very used though, so i spend what i would on car payments upgrading worn out stuff and modding

Hopefully by the end of next year, if not sooner. If I continue to make my scheduled payments it'll be paid off June 2009, but I'm thinking about paying about $60 more on each payment throughout 2008 to have it paid off by next December. Had I spent all of my mod money thus far on paying off the car it would've been paid for sometime around Feb. 2006, but what fun is that [driving]

12-31-2007, 03:36 AM
Yeah it's nice to have it paid off...more money for mods and cheaper insurance for those who just get liabilty.....but me I go for full coverage even though it's paid off......never know what could happen to your car...especially if you have invested alot of money in it.

I've had my 06 ST for about 14 months now. Funny story though. I'm from Vermont and went down to Herb Chambers in Braintree MA on a weekend because they had a loaded up ST and it was holdover time with a $3000 rebate. We came to terms and I gave them a check for like $14 plus the title to my 98 CSVT. The F&I guy asked me to sign a contract for them to hold as it was a weekend and I had given them an out of state check. No problemo. The check was good and it cleared but about 2 weeks later I got a letter welcoming me to Ford Motor Credit and a payment book. Talk about the poop hitting the fan. A couple of phone calls and everything was OK but it just goes to show you, people are human. To their credit (pun intended) Herb Chambers gave me a good deal.

My car started life as a total POS, constantly in the shop for warranty work, stuff breaking left and right, then the Stealership started getting nasty about warranty work; at that point, I figured I'd better get it paid off SOON.

Fast forward to a year ago, I manage to pay it off and . . . it stops breaking. It's almost been a year since it was in the shop for some odd repair and I'm really enjoying not having to fret about my car AND pay for it.

I'll be making payments for a while on this puppy. Once I get my other higher interest debts payed off, I'll stop chopping away at the car loan. Hoping to be 100% debt free by 2010.

I bought my 02' SPI Sedan back in the begining of 04'. It was used and about 11,000 out the door. In June of 05' I bought my White 05' Hatch and still owed 9000 on the 02'. Ford gave me 4500 for it and was stuck with the negitive equity on it.

$21000 was what I started with and now I have about $13000 more to go.

So lets say I got teh pwn3d [;)]

Both wife and I have new 07 hatchbacks. We paid one off by borrowing against a 401k, which cant be used for several years anyway. no interest that way, and we got the title up front. good way to go, in my opinion.

This whole thread got me thinking and I took a look at my agreement through Ford and after everything said and done...........

$29,000 [ohcrap]

That's after financing, gap insurance, the rape on the trade in, etc.

Can we say IDBHVNL?!?!?!
