Has anyone ever seen someone running a block-off plate in place of the oil separator on the zetec/svt block? Usually what I've seen is a plate bolted on with a threaded fitting for a hose. Its basically a oil separator delete. Anyone done this /seen this?

There is no stock oil separator... what are you trying to accomplish?
Technically there is, the big akward looking tank on the front of your block, behind the header (that the PCV valve is mounted into) is an oil separator. It mounts on a 3 bolt flange. Oil splashes around the block, and the baffle/tank/separator is designed to allow the PCV to be mounted without getting oil splashed directly on it.
I want to get rid of it because A) it's ugly, B) it's not really necessary C) I want to design a MUCH cleaner, nicer flanged PCV fitting.
The europe zetec crowd does this more, I was wondering if anyone here has done it.

funny I dont even really notice it enough to think its ugly...even though it really doesnt seem to have a purpose I would leave it alone, dont see any real GAINS worth trying this
Well thanks for your outlook, but I think it's pretty ugly, and gets in the way of some turbo housings (hint hint).
So I will probably end up making an aluminum plate and tapping it for a 90 degree fitting and hose barb. That should do just fine.

Post some pics before and after, too.

It hasnt gotten in the way of any of the turbos I've done......

You would most likely have to fab something out of, oh I dunno, 1/8 plate aluminum or something. maybe custom gasket fabing too. Good luck with the project, post some before and after pics!
