I'm going to look at a 2001 Black ZX3 tommorow. It comes with 56k miles, CD player, AC, cruise control, alloy wheels, tan interior. Basically your standard zx3 only i dont know if they have ABS or not. They want $6995 in the paper. How much do you think i could talk down a dealership. or let me rephrase that question, how much would you pay for this? i just want to know so i dont get ripped off, but i plan on bargaining with them if i like it.

I did Kbb already, but sometimes kbb isn't always the best way to go. They gave a retail rate of $7675 and a private reseller rate of $6350. the private rate seems about right, but the retail rate. i mean come on. i found another 2001 zx3 that was going for $5995, with all the same features and less miles, but it is red and i really want black.

i believe the "retail rate" refers to the asking price at dealerships, which sounds about right with that number.

yeah, i know that, but that price still seems pretty steep for a dealership to me at least anyway.

dealerships always start the prices high, i believe. (though i cannot verify the accuracy of the numbers quoted to you) but through a dealership you usually have professional inspections, all that sort of thing. plus, since they are running a business, they have to charge more to pay the bills. not sayin its right that the charge more, just seems to be a fact of life.
