Zx351 in Okie... but he sold his... and from what i understand he had to sacrifice his AC... if you look at the Kugel Komponents site.... the initial work is pretty much all there... it's certain something i would attempt myself.... at least not all of it... i'm looking into that myself... if i do get fool hardy enough to attempt it.... i'd buy the kugel kit... it comes out to about 5-6k and the crate 5.0 cammer from ford racing is 3,995.... labor hasn't even been factored in... however i'd rather buy a kit that i know works, and have the job done right than get it cheaply and have a money pit repair hog...

I was thinking more along the lines of a 390hi-po since I know where 2 of them are setting in a buddies garage... along with a 9 inch rear end.

and as for labor... I'll be doing the labor if I go down this road.

BTW 1turbofocus now has the ZX351... soon to be the ZX408 stroker.

dang.... nice.... meh me, i was leaning heavily towards a TT V6 swap... but 3-4.5k for the v6 swap.... then... another 6-7 k for teh turboing... cause i refuse to attempt anything that intricate myself... and plus... being able to kill an EVO N/A would be a damn nice brag.... for a focus anyway, and it would be motivation to keep the outward appearance totally sleeper....

If I do this instead of another engine rebuild I'll have it done in a month... or really close to it...once I get everything I need.

There's none of it I cant do myself.

do i need to make a trip to ohio then?

i'll pay [:D]

seriously, thats the only thing with me, other getting the parts is a breeze.
what i wonder about though... is getting everything done and keeping all
electronics intact... and the set up that was being done by sleeper was
hella complicated....

My biggest concern would be engine management. The mechanical stuff is pretty straight forward once you get the engine mount kit. Lots of fab work to be done but thats what makes it fun. No, I've never done this before btw, but I have looked through a couple build journals and asked some questions, and like I said the whole engine management / stand-alone computer would be the biggest hurdle it seems.

what i said falls into that as well, i would love to do what sleeperfocus did bit by bit, but he had to have to seperate ECU's just to keep all his electronics in his focus intact... it's a daunting prospect to say the least

Im pretty sure that Sleeper focus had the biggest issues with putting the 6 speed trans...and they were fitment issues.

If I recall, the transmission housing had to be modified until the engine was low enough to allow the hood to close.

UK... which engine/tranny did you go with??

Did you use the Kugal kit?

As for engine managment..... I'm going "old school" you dont need much managment with a Holley Carb.... I'll just make my own dash insert and use anolog gauges.

5.0 injected, plus Vortec. (soon to be 331 stroker injected)
Engine wiring loom made up from a combination of Mustang and Focus looms, so that all Focus engine fuses are used. Engine fuse box fitted under dashboard now.
Mustang E.C.U.
Focus central locking module retained, (don't know whether U.S spec can do this)
Focus ECU NOT used
A.O.D (bit of a squeeze to get it in !!)
8.8 rear
Mainly Kugel parts, but modified my own front subframe for Right hand drive.

that and the dual ECU's...

Sleepers main problem was the shop that he was with... should have had so much trial and error with the placement of a tranny... of coure that all goes back to the quality of the work i guess... personally if i were to do this though, i would go or the 5 speed instead of the 6...

9in rear is not necessary Focus isn't heavy and won't hook so you don't have to worry about bustin an 8.8. No point in adding weight with the 9.

You should go V8 swap, sell your turbo kit and what's left of your motor and that should pay for a good chunk of the swap.

Let me know how much for the getrag if you go through with this.
