well sat me and my 3 boys went out to dive sports (scuba gear and stuff) and then wileys (sporting goods PAINTBALL store). after that we thought wed go drive around look at some cars at the local dealers. seen the new mitsu eclipse,even the gt version. toyotas,pontiacs,nissans, about 5 different places,, well i decided to hit the FORD dealer where i got my zx3,,there they were,,the 2008 focus,,2 coupes and 3 sedans all different colors some leather(pleather, vinyl whatever there using) and some fabric interior. when i pulled in i said there it is,,what i heard echo from the car,,the new focus i said,,where, was the reply.. i stopped right next to it,,this,,, no way i heard,,yes way i said,,my oldest 20 and a car enthusiast like me said,,WHY? the younger 2 (16 and 13) said yuck and what the crap...needless to say i disliked it even more after seeing it in person,,,the sales guy said ready to trade out,,i said you must be jokin,,and as i drove away and lookin back at the 8 mustangs on the lot (3 new 5 used) i said,,keep it up mr ford,then i went back to look at the gt 6 mitsu anniversary 3.8 eclipse.

you know what. I've been looking at and driving these foci every day for the last month or so and i will say that they are starting to grow on me. just like i hated the new 08 super dutys and now i like them

i actually don't think they'd look bad. if they got rid of all the damn chrome! who the hells bright idea was chrome all over them? and the stupid side vents?

Agreed! Chrome doesn't flow well on small / compact cars!

my mom's 08 doesnt have a lot of chrome, mainly becuase of body colord door handles. yes it has the vents and grille but since it aint over kill (beside chrome handles went out of style in the late 80's) its actually quite nice.

I like the car but I wish it wasn't a Focus. (If that makes since.) They should have brought the European body style over as the new Focus and introduced this car as a new model. Having a focus line without a hatch just seems sacrilegious to me.

I actually went to see the new 08's today and I really didnt like them too much, like everyone has said, the chrome just doesnt look right on them, and i wish they would've added disc brakes to the rear, i dont think i will ever like the new focuses*

I have an 08 focus and have to say I think that it looks alot nicer then the new eclipse (the front end is ugly on the eclipse) but thats just me. I have to agree I was kinda timid to join once I saw all the 08 bashing that goes on around here. Yeah it's a new look but things need to change other wise there would never be any new car looks good or bad.

Ya, really. The 08 is really nothing more than a 05-07 with a new exterior and some minor tweaks.

Yes, and yes, I agree with you there.

Once people started doing their own thing with them, they kinda grew on most everyone, including me. But Ford has made it even more of a challenge this time, and I don't think there's too much hope besides the FocusSport look.

WE never have to AACEPT and move on. Its still america,, and if we who dont care for the apperance of the new focus dont like it then we do have the right to voice our opinion just as much as those who do like it,Nobodys bashing the owners or people who want the car so dont take it personal,its like shoes,haircuts and pants.everybodys not gonna like your tatse thats why theres a variety.WE are individuals ya know.unlike the cookie cutter automobile industry where there running out of ideals and there all starting to look like one another,,WE PEOPLE still come out in a custom one of a kind model and thank GOD for that.If you wanna live a life of accept and move on then a communist country would be your ideal choice..then you wont have to worry about choices and opinions..there all made for you so you can just move on and accept.life is short,,so live yours,and let others live theres.its just an opinion.

People here bash lots of things. The '05-'07 models, sedans, hatchbacks, and vehicles with an ATX. So the '08 is just another addition to the list.

Oh good to know I'm not being singled out as a 08 driver. If you guys want to talk with other focus owners why would you decide to single them out and make them feel like [:)][:)][:)][:)][:)] for buying a different model car.

I'm sorry but I like my focus and if it was 2003 I would have got that style but I for one am not looking to do up my car and I don't want to buy a car that I'll end up fixing because it is already 5 years old when I get it.
But that is just my opinion.
