Also old vans are a good POS vehicle to mess around with.

The Focus hasn't been around long enough for there to be really cheap old ones around.

Dude, look for an old Civic--THOSE things will last forever. Their bodies will rust to hell before they ever die. I've heard the same about Corollas but I don't like Toyota that much.

Otherwise almost any car like...'96 or older will cost a grand or less depending on mileage and type of course.

I was thinking of getting a diesel. What do you think a MERCEDES MODEL 300D or a VW rabbit??

The Benz is a better choice. The VW can be a pain.

Actually yeah I was thinkin that too...that's what my gf has but...I don't know, it's got a head gasket problem and the shift linkage is constantly binding up. It's still running of course, and I suppose every older car has its flaws like that--that's what you can expect with a beater, btw, but you probably knew that.

I was thinking a Benz a nice looking one for cheap but my friend told me to stay a way b/c thoz once have a lot of problems with them and that i will spend much more on repairs. Is that true?
