Just wanted to introduce my self I just signed up today. I've read some posts and not too many people seem to like the 08 focus but thats what I have (well I'm getting it tomorrow) it's the SE version 5speed have to say it's a pretty nice car (I only got to test drive the auto though). I have to say I wasn't a focus fan till my bf got a '03 zx3 that i really like so now I have a focus too lol.

well it's just a lease so other then rims probably not too much as it would have to be changed back unless i decide to buy it out in the end.

The dealer I'm getting it from is really nice and gave me a 07 ses till mine comes in (as my old car a sonata decided to blow the engine last week) and I have to say i'm not looking forward to going back to unheated fabric seats and no sunroof :( But oh well this is my first brand new car I can't wait to pick it up after work tomorrow.

but thats cool focusgirl313... the 08 does look very nice if you lower it, 2 tone the paint and paint the front chrome grille black or bodycolor...

im sure with the help and support from ff.com you can easily get on your way to modding.

if you are inclinded to start lurking around for information on your engine/tranny combo you have.. you can check the duratec section out, just ask and any one in there will be easily able to help you with engine modification choices.

and remember... there are many things you can do to your engine that are bolt on and can be reinstalled if you decide not to buyout the lease.

Well I have to say I love my car it is the nicest 5 speed I have driven (really easy to shift ect. ) I can't take pictures today cause it's dark and raining but I will tomorrow in the A.M.

Not a bad car, but you leased a Focus? Why not just buy it? That car shouldn't be stretch for anyone. If you had to lease it, you should have gotten a used car.

I don't care about the bashing. I leased the car because I didn't want to be stuck with the car. I actaully bought it as my car broke down (timing belt) and didn't want to fix it. I'm not 100% sure if I want to buy it out at the end or just trade it in. As I've said on another thread I don't want to have an older car again it's under warranty and when my lease is up I can take it back and get a new car. Also I'm not saying that this car is in anyway a stretch for me to buy (as it's not) but you really don't know what kind of bills I owe or what kind of job I have.

Duratec engines don't have timing belts. They have timing chains.

If you're not sure if you want to keep it, a lease is a good thing. As long as you don't drive it too much, I put between 1500 to 2000 miles a month on my Focus, so a lease is out of the question.

Yeah I don't go too far so i can stay under the km's allowed. I was told by my machinic that it was the timing belt but if thats wrong then it might be a chain (mine is a 01 4 cylinder so it might not be the same as other models). either way the car doesn't work at all lol.

I just google searched and it does seem that my sonata has a timig belt or maybe two? I don't know I have it up on kijiji so hopefully some person that knows how to fix it will buy it soon. It's a nice car body wise and has power everything but i just didn't like the car and wanted a new one since I just got a new job making alot more money then before.
