So my transmission went out and I had it swapped with a transmission from a salvaged Focus. The junk yard said the transmission had approx 33,000 miles on it. I have the vin# and i was wanting to know if there was a way to find out how many miles exactly this transmission had when the car it came out of was salvaged?

if you have the vin run a carfax
that will tell you

Well I would do that but it cost money lol!

Well...carfax is not going to be terribly accurate at telling you how many miles are on the transmission. It will tell you how many miles were on it the last time the car was taken to a dealership for service, so it'd be more of you know it has at least XX,XXX miles.
