it's not gonna happen. they talked about doing a twin turbo on an I4. But a twin turbo isn't as effective as a single turbo on an I4.

Somethings are not to much for any Ford Focus, I say forget about Twin Force and get it with those inline 5 duratecs over to the states.

You're correct. It's a direct injection fuel delivery system, and turbocharged.

Probably not a lot of boost, but enough to get 400 HP.

Anyone know the literage?

i can see them throwing a 2.0T or 2.3T or maybe even 1.8T i definetly see a turbo motor coming. Almost every competitor offers a car with 190+ horsepower (Civic Si, Nissan SE-R V Spec, even mazdaspeed 3, WRX (not really a competitor but oh well), i just cant see them slumping on it too much longer, if they build a car that can compete witht he SRT 4 from Ford it will boost their image a ton

Ford has almost always had cars that have had less hp than their competitors. Look at the Mustang, they have always had their numbers lower than the Camaro's and that is Ford's baby. It wouldn't surprise me if they did nothing with the Focus and just offered one engine in it.

that would be tight if the focus had a v-6

If you ask me, i think ford is gonna offer a focus in even a smaller engine than they are now for gas mileage. GM and Ford need to steer in that direction b/c honda and toyota are spanking them

It's something that was already done before in the past and it failed miserably. Since the release of the Ford Tempo until about early 90's Ford's idea is to have a sporty v6 engine in a small car.... That idea worked and managed to fit one and barely even get to some parts under the hood.... *BUT* Since when was Ford Tauruses 3.0 pushroded vulcan became a sport powerplant? Since Ford already made there 3.0 Duratec and ther 3.2 Yamaha powerplant, they have never bother putting on in it.... Thus produced a sales faliure.

If it were a reverse process in the past, there *probably* wouldn't be such thing as a Ford Focus today, IMO. Correct me if im wrong on this paragraph if necessary.[thumb]

The Lincoln concept at the 2007 NAIAS had a 3.5 V6 with well over 400hp. I think it was something more like 450hp.
