So I see Honda will release a Civic SI Sedan with styling and performance from Mugen. This includes:

Twin-Ring Motegi track-tuned suspension
Aerodynamic body styling
"Cat-back" sports exhaust system
Highly aggressive spring and damper tuning
Mugen–forged aluminum wheels measure 18 x 7.5 inches
High-grip summer tires (215/40R18)
Front spoiler and sports grille
Side spoilers
Rear diffuser
Adjustable rear wing

Here is the link to the site.

IMO there are only 2 problems. 1) there will only be 1000 of them made, and 2) it's MSRP is $29,500. Its unfortunately a bit out of my price range, but I still like it.

i agree thats way too much money for a civic with a body kit, i do like the new civics dont get me wrong. i do wish they still had a hatchback though.

I know, the lack of hatches makes half of me want an Astra.

The other half of me wants a used Mazda5 with a turbo kit- I love sliding doors!

[QUOTE=Waffles ZX3 Kona Sport;1825042]So I see Honda will release a Civic SI Sedan with styling and performance from Mugen. This includes:

the regular SI has 9?? more torque than the Focus, one guys review summed it up that, the 0-60 accelleration test felt like he was in a Focus because the torque is so low in the SI, he did't insinuate anything bad about the Focus, he was just giving a comparison. Saw that when I was contemplating buying one, $23000 for a car that you have to drive with the rpm's above 6000 to get some power out of it? Love the technology that go into them though and they look sweet, especially the sedan.

It looks nice, but for 29k? No ,thats a bit much. I would rather have a C30.

I don't like. There's more wing than the rear end of the car.

All kinds of things are wrong if you spend 30k on an NA FWD 4cyl.

Yea, its cool, but...i'd never pay 30k for one. Basically in comparision its kinda like the Saleen Mustang...the first stage. Which is basically the same stuff all show and no new go. And all it makes it cost like 10k more....No thanks, i'll do my own aftermarket work.

I heard once that every time Honda re-designs the Civic, it gets as big as the previous generation Accord was, and the Accord gets even bigger. Look at the Civics of the 80's and compare them to the Civics of the late 90's. And now, they're bigger yet. (it must be because us Americans are getting bigger...)

and yeah, there's no way I would spend $30g on a Civic with "factory mods" (I'd rather an STI personally), I just thought it was a nice lookin car and deserved a little bit of attention.

Thats one reason I bought my Foci...lots of options, similar performance and 8g less than a lot of Japanese cars.

29k is laughable. A MazdaSpeed3 is 23-25k, a EVO X is just over 30, an RX8 is 27, hell a Mustang GT can be had for 25k. 29k for a Civic is just all kinds of funny.

Can anyone say SRT-4ish in profile? I've seen pics of it in black and it looks much better, but these things will be dogs off the line. Start with no low end torque and add bigger wheels??? Doesn't make sense but putting on this Mugen intake kit from King Motorsports should scavage some torque, but not much. Plus it's $715!!!

I drove a Civic SI 4-door, thinking that it would be a really good choice for my wife for our soon-to-be-larger family. I am a serious NA guy, very hostile towards turbo cars in general, and I know that the K20 is a great lump. I had heard good things about the chassis in reviews and was pretty excited.

Ended up quite dissapointed. They have worked so hard to eliminate the NVH that it ended up feeling quite remote and uninteresting. More than anything I was let down by the steering. The steering of a car to me is the #1 most important trait and the steering in the Civic was direct but numb. I'm sure it feels good to most people, but I ask a LOT and have driven nothing but cars with great chassis and steering for years (SVTF previously, RX-8 currently, and at that moment, a shockingly fun base model Mazda 3) so I came in expecting a really involving drive. Quite boring in fact.

I didn't really lean on the engine at all, not about to romp on a 55 mile engine that somebody will pay good money for and love, I am sure. But even so it did feel pretty gutless.

Now the choices are between a Mazda 3 2.3 Grand Touring and a VW GTI 5-door. That 2.0T FSI engine doesn't even feel tubocharged at all!

For $30000 I'd buy an EVO or STI or even the new SAAB 93 sport edition (around 35,000, at least has a turbo and around 260 hp output out of the box, don't quote me), not a civic. As for styling, call me biased, but I think the SAP looks waaaaaaayyyyy better than the 4-door civic with the wing....it looks like a ST with SAP wannabe.

Damn thats a nice car but I agree the price is pretty high.

I wish they would bring the Euro hatchback version to the US!
