lol
shoulda gone on our yellowstone run last year.
wd40 and a group of us usually get together and do a run somewhere every year. a couple of the guys have faded out of the scene, but we usually have a good time.
think next year might be a g3g in canada or somewhere near the border. theres some guys in manitoba. would be kinda cool to do, but would need a passport

We don't have the SVT in England but we do have the RS Focus which is pretty sweet.

I had a ZX3 then. It was the year my boy was born so I never really had time for the internet. Now he's older I bought the SVT and can spend more time cruising and getting back into motoring.

Helena has the best facility to race at in the state (and maybe even a couple neighboring states).
But...ya gotta make turns, none of that straight line stuff.
Here's what the track looks like from the air:

Just want to pop in and see what is avalible in Montana. if I get this job I applied for I will be moving to Havre. Anyone know anything about getting parts and other tracks in Montana? What about driving down to Pueblo Motorsports Park in Colorado? How diFficult is it to work with the SCCA there to open up a new venue for Auto-X? Say in Havre? I hope to have my own timing gear by the time I move and maybe order a few hundred cones. I need someplace to practice and keep on my game.

focusedaddiction
10-23-2007, 09:34 AM
we have a few( 3 just in my region) cool places including a runway on the airforce base. great falls is only an hour south of havre. + we are looking at a couple more venues for next summer.
by the way there are 4 scca regions in MT.[thumb]
we have a few parts stores but I order more online!
I hope to see ya at some autocrosses this comming summer!!!
There're autocrosses going on all over the state in the summer.
Good luck with the new job.

Dont do it in havre. If you are going to do anything, do it in bozeman, butte, or missoula. I dont want to drive far :)

^^^Region 52 (Bozeman) has been looking at some places to hold an event in Butte, but AFAIK, nothing firm has shown up yet.

Here's all the Montana Regions "home" sites.

Big Sky Region 38 - Kalispell:
http://rmcbigskyregion.org
Big Sky Region 38 - Missoula:
http://bigskyregion.org
Southwest Montana Region 52 - Bozeman: (region I belong to)
http://www.swmtscca.org
Montana Region 105 - Great Falls: (focusedaddiction's region)
http://mtscca.com
Yellowstone Region 108 - Billings:
http://yellowstonescca.com

With that many Regions (and less than a million people in the whole state) it's going to be extrememly tough to get another one started.
If there was, is, or is going to be any talk about forming a new Region, that would be in Helena,
since it has the best facility in the State, yet, no SCCA Region at this time.

Yellowstone Region 108 - Billings: This is a very popular track.

I did not want to "start" anything in SCCA but maybe a "test and tune" like we do here. Mainly I need it for practice. I have to wait till I get there and actually see if I can rent a hanger to store everything in. What is the closest region to Havre? Anyne co to Canada for track days? It seems like the closest road courses are in Canada. Right now I drive 2.5 hrs to work and event that is all weekend long.

focusedaddiction

Montana Region 105 - Great Falls: (focusedaddiction's region)

would be the closest to havre about 1 hour south .

Miller Motorsports Park (Salt Lake) is only a 5.5 hour drive from Helena.
^^^I suppose ya better add 2 more from Havre...
