Are you sure about that? There's a new Golf sitting directly next to the Focus on the right side in those pictures, the rear end looks nothing alike on the two. Frankly I think I like the rear end treatment on the new Golf better than the Focus. But it's a moot point since the Euro-designed Focus is not coming here to the U.S., and the new Golf won't until sometime next year...

I bet it will come to the us in a couple of years. Yuck

Yeah and that's with the Euro bumper set at 2.5 mph protection.......they will have to increase the rear bumper size.....making it really ugly....IMO

Soon this site is going to be OldFocusFanatics...I HATE the new disigns. HATE them. Ford seems to have a problem fixing things that aren't broken.

Quite honestly i really like the front end of that sedan. It is so different from the north american model: fenders, hood, headlights; look at the area between the fenders and the hood, it's so buffed up, it gives it an aggressive style. The turn signals are sexy/discreet compared to our very very large turn sigs.
I like the rear of the hatchback, almost looks like a Volvo with those rectangular taillights.
The interior is really nice too, dash and guages are different.
Unfortunately the suits at Ford aren't getting the message that we like the european style of the focus; it's been like that since its introduction.

I know the laws are different and that means structural body components would be different.
But when it comes to body style, they could easily produce the same headlights, buffed up hood...etc. and that would be cost efficient.
After all, that's what we moders are doing: converting body styles.
