So, after finishing on the house today I decided to see why the Rx7 wasn't running top notch and backfiring out the carb when my timing was dead on. Pulled the valve covers and nearly everyone of my rocker studs have edged their way out of the head. I figure its because of the high lift cam. So I figure I'm going to buy a set of arp screw in studs. Hopefully with the right tools I won't have to pull the heads and take it to the machine shop. If I do. Then I'm going to port and polish the heads, intake, and carb.

Its all nice and 200 degrees like. Fak!

Some of you may have seen my post one of the last times I was here showing a pic of my totaled out SE. Thinking of sticking with the Focus! By word of mouth i've found someone selling an 04 Saleen N2O. Car has a little over 36,000 on the odo. Im not sure of build number or anything, Ive just seen a cameraphone pic (it's black). They said nitrous HASN'T been hooked up. Is there a surefire way of telling if it actually has been? I know it wasnt hooked up at the factory and the bottle was empty at time of sale from the dealership. But anyone with common sense can hook it up, fill a bottle and ride til it's out. May sound crazy but maybe theres a seal of some sort, either on the line or where it is injected? Im really interested in the car, and if it has been sprayed a little, it's not the end of the world. Im just curious if there's a way to tell. I had spray on my last one (dry) and the only evidence of mine having any, after lines were removed, was a tapped intake. I've heard these have a wet system. Thanks in advance for any input!!

from what i remember it's something in the wiring that isnt fully hooked up. if so, it'd be pretty easy to check the wiring...

Yea it would hard to tell unless you tare into the motor,other than check the wiring or pull off the intake and see.Thats the good and bad thing about n2o it can be hid very well and is hard to tell how much and how often it was used.

just got back from a week long trip. 5 nights at disney, 1 in jacksonville each way, and 1 more in atlanta last night. was going to catch the braves game but locked my keys in the car just after checking in at the hotel. cost $155 to get into it at 6:00, downtown atlanta. took maybe 10 minutes, after waiting 40 for him, then nearly another hour as he had to wait on confirmation from his boss for the credit card charge. so no game after that delay and unexpected charge. but discovered usaa would reimburse for it, as roadside service on my insurance, yay. oh, and engaged now lol

and i really want a fiesta. the more i try to convince my sister she wants one, the more i want one [:(]

Saleen turned out to be a letdown... It was a clone. I dont blame my friend, he didn't know any better. Had saleen kit, hood and decals, but was def just a ZX3. Venom nitrous system... I still drove it but something just didn't feel right. Could have been that I shot down the idea of the car still being OK after I found out it was just a copy. Oh well, on to the next. Thanks for the input on the nitrous hookup.

So I just got back from buying a set of Borbet wheels (Type T) and tires for ridiculously cheap. They are VERY light weight and are 17x71/2s. Made in Germany. Im going to be selling them soon. I love them but my car isnt euro enough for them.

So... Tearing the stroker motor down tomorrow night. All the way down to the pistons and rods. The game plan is within the next two weeks. Swap my rods for 6 inch h-beam rods instead of 5.7 I beam. Full port and polish, screw in rocker studs, arp head bolts, weld the oil pick up, and a tunnel ram intake.

It should boost it up to 12.5:1. I believe tho, I'm just going to stick with 5.7s because of oiling issues. But, my buddy across the street has a spare H-beam rod, and i'm going to throw it in there and see what it looks like on my pistons. If it don't work like I want it to I'll go with 5.7 and deck the block to zero. The rods i'm looking at are 4340 eagles. Plus this winter were going to cage the front and under body so that it will transfer every single pound of torque to the rear wheels. And we'll probably mini tub it and throw a 9" under it.

I wanted it for street use, but there's just too much crap that needs done to make it dependable lol.

Oh yea, no street bike :( Someone got to it before me.

I got them Cracked open but I messed up the headlight covers trying to de-fog them So I havent got them put back together. [:(]

What messed up? Cleaner? I've gotten some sand washed up in the bottom of mine. Should be easy to clean just want to have no humidity when they get glued back together. I don't want to take it to a shop if I don't have to.

Glad to hear she's doing well! Where did y'all end up moving to??

we just moved around the corner from our apartment into a house. we wanted to stay close to where we are b/c we liked the area, its quiet but not in the middle of no where there is a nice mall just 10 miles down the road and we are still only about 30min. from the beaches and 30min from downtown mobile. the neighbors are all nice and we have 3/4 of an acre so were not all smashed together.

Hi everybody, hope everyone's doing well. Just got moved into my new place as well with Jordan. Spent the last 48 hours moving and woke up this morning sick as a dog with no sleep and went to work ftw. I'm exhausted, somebody go get me some groceries. The apartment is straight up baller though. I inherited Jordan's 46" tv, I have HD cable for the first time in my life, an Xbox, holy poop.

yeah i'm throwing these on my 8'' wide wheels. it's a little stretch but it'll be fine. I just ordered these for the front. I'm thinking i'll stick with 245/40 for the rear as there isnt as much clearance back there.

Just saying hi, crystal is doing even better now there are no more bandages on the cut now so its healing nicely. Our neighbors are really nice, they know I don't have a mower yet and have been mowing and weedeating our grass for us, letting us use her AT&T card so we can pay bills and whatever and just all around being nice.

Bad news for me though is the SVT has a P1518 (IMRC stuck open) code and if the actuator is bad its going to set us back 260.00+. Any of you SVT guys that have had this problem help would be great, I found a how-to for cleaning it but Daniel if you have done one your experience would be appreciated. I'll be checking tomorrow to make sure the IMRC is the actual problem and not the connectors or something.

I checked the clip last night, the cable was secure. I even turned the whole clip to move the runners inside and they moved freely so it looks like I'm either going to have to pay for a new one or try and clean hers like WD40's how to.

I just put a 25MM rear sway on last weekend... OMGoodness.... What a difference. The car is flat through the corners. This is one of the best mods I have done. Now I cant wait to get a front sway on. :) Anyone know of a good size?

yea i just turned in my time 180 hrs for me so it looks like the shelby will be getting a CAI tune and pulley can you say 600 hp to the wheels. Oyea and putting the svtf in the shop to have the timing belt replaced before something bad happens.

God, machine work is so expensive, 95 bucks to machine for my screw in studs. But if all goes well, i can have them back by friday after noon, spend saturday night putting everything back together. Monday testing everything and next friday RACES!

yea its almost cheaper to buy a crate engine and be done with it.^^ they have them so cheap now its the way to go.

But, whats the fun in that? Well besides after all the work. I mean I can stand back, and admire mine, and when people ask me whats done to it i can rattle it off the top of my head and say yea... I built that. The next motor I build will be a destroked 400. 400 block, plus 350 crank= 377 with high hp numbers.

So... The 383 is down to the bare block. Turned out I had 2 faulty wrist pin retainers that bent and scarred the walls just a tad. Going to go get a honer and hone them up. The car should be running between 10 and midnight. So lets hope for some good luck.

Going to look at a 455 rocket and a very ugly caddi later. If your not too familiar with 455 rockets and BBC in general, backstory: Stage 1 455 produced 402HP and 521TQ. Trick about these engines. Bigger oil pan, longer oil pickup, better oil pump, shaved heads, and you'll be able to safely turn 6-6500rpm.

Basically what I'm getting at, is in the long run my rx7 would spank it. Off the line with the right rear, it'll pull harder than a rocket.

Our cable isn't working right and we don't have our HD DVR box but they are supposed to come by today and set that up so maybe it will fix the no picture problem. I can live without TV for a little longer b/c I got the new halo as an early anniversary present (we are on 3 years today) and as long as I have Xbox live on I will survive.

My job at goodyear still sucks but I got rid of the asshat manager and that started a chain of events I'm beginning to wonder if I screwed myself by doing. Regardless I'm applying for a job with Henry Shein, I will be repairing dental equipment. So if I get it I'll have my weekends and holidays back (just in time for the fall holidays) I'll be nice and comphy in AC while I work or in a van going to the next job. Also they'll pay more!!

I'm glad to be back and once I figure out what were doing about the house warming I'll post up info if any of you want to come down for it, or we can hold off and just make a full on meet on another weekend.

As most of you may know he was a complete liar from the get go, he was a crook too and all I needed to do was catch the right time to get proof. Its not a big deal really but he was taking the used tires that were still half way decent and selling them to a used tire place and pocketing the money. So what the problem was is he was using the company truck to take the tires and then go home in it, the truck is not supposed to leave the shop for anything but business but he was using it like it was his own. He would take cash from the drawer and rent a mower to cut his grass and claim it was for the store but we have landscapers. He would discount tires to almost nothing and give most of the work away in the shop and not pay the techs. So one day as he was driving away with a truck load of tires (stacked over the roof) and I snapped a picture with my phone. I sent that to the district manager listing all the above stuff and said he needs to go, so even though they KNEW the whole time about his crappy ways of giving stuff away they couldn't get rid of him for some reason. The tire thing was just enough proof to get rid of him.

The new manager now is an ass who thinks were all robots and while he used to be a tech knows nothing about cars except for how to find things wrong with them. He is a "by the book" guy and honestly while I know they are goodyear's rules a lot are unnecessary and waste time and energy. Its always easy to inforce BS rules when you sit in a office all day, its one of those guys who forgot what its like to be a labor guy.

Damn right, he was screwing me left and right. I worked every weekend and closed every day for 5 months, this is after he told me I would be alternating weekends and open/close with the other guy. He screwed me out of 5 hours overtime, and tried to tell me it was my fault. So much crap spewed from his mouth all day long you never knew what was going on.

Don't blame you Jon. I wish I could get rid of a few of my co-workers. But ole well, working on my licenses now that I have backing.

Side note: I got my 455. By next summer, it will be oil restricted so I can rev high, big cam, fully ported and polished heads, and tunnel ram intake topped with 2 750 cfm.

When i get the money to waste haha. There is actually a project I have in mind when and if i do get a retarded amount of money to waste. It's a LS block that cost 2500. Its a small block that can be punched out to 500 CID. Set of aluminum heads, roller cam, roller rockers, fuel injected, supercharged, and one mean set of headers.

Dang Jon. Im glad you were able to get rid of him. Most places like that dont have good managers because they know nothing of managing.

on a side note... Im kinda irritated that my ROTM photos are from 3 years ago when my car didnt look as good. I only was able to upload two photos and FF wont let me upload anymore.
