Hi, I am new here a do not own a focus yet, but I want one. I was not sure where to post this so I am sorry if it is in the wrong place. I have heard that the Zetec engine does not feel like it has much power when the A/C is on. I am not sure to get a Zetec or Duratec. Does the Duratec feel like a stronger engine and if I wanted F/I someday would it hold up. Thanks

you'll love a svt focus. look for one in your area. the best of all focus i think. except for the rs-8 focus. yeah a v-8 engine in a focus, crazy speed !!!

It would be for my High-school car so i am not sure about the SVT. I want it to be powerful but the SVT is a rare car and I would not want anything to happen to it in the parking lot. My question is basically is which engine feels more powerful and reliable. Thanks

I would just go with a zetec unless there was a good deal on a Focus with a Duratec engine. Just make sure the car is 2002 or newer cause the ones before that have alot of recalls and errors.

The best bang for the buck has to be any 2.3 Focus, that is If your lucky to find one in your area. The 2.3 Duratec was introduced in 2003 and it had 145 ponies bone stock!!....Not to shabby IMO.

I would really like a Duratec with the Steeda SRI and Magnaflow exhaust and some wheels. I think that would be good enough for a high-school kid. Thanks for all the help

the duratec would be best. but just because the SVT is a rare car and no longer produced doesnt mean you cant drive one in high school. just park far away from people and dont piss off the wrong guy. plus it doesnt matter what car you have people will mess with it no matter what if they dont like you. my best friend drove a STi and then his EVO 8 to school for 2 years and nothing happened to it, he just parked far away. but if you have your heart on a zetec or duratec the 2.3 duratec is the fastest stock besides a SVT.

both the zetec and duratec as well as the SVT engines are real good and have good aftermarket support. if ur gonna get a Zetec try for it to be a 2002 or newer Zetec model. the other ones have recalls but that can be taken care of in your ford dealer. I like the Zetec cause I think and correct me if I'm wrong in this it has the most aftermarket support out of all the current focus engines altough the duratec and SVT engines are not that behind at all. ps: i think any car feels with a little less power with the A/C on it's just more noticeable on some cars than others ( so I believe ). anyways welcome to focus fanatics and good luck in finding a good deal on a focus that u like.

Thank you all very much. I have one quick question, I am 15 right now and am 6''3' tall. I have not yet been in a focus, are they roomy inside. Thanks
