Ok well i think i'll have saved enough for a new turbo and a tune by the end of the summer so what should i go with. I was thinking about a garrett, maybe this one http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/catelog/Turbochargers/GT28/GT2860RS_739548_1.htm
or
http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/catelog/Turbochargers/GT25/GT2560R_466541_4.htm
but i don't know. I want a turbo that is ball bearing and with a whp 230-350 range. WHP not HP. What do you guys think, is there a better turbo out there, and was hopping to spend around $800 right now. Tom, John you guys might help more then the other so plz don't hold anything back :-).
P.S. Ow and on that site is that WHP or eng HP? The reason i ask is b/c on the site i got the other link from say other wise.
http://www.forcedinductions.com/Completegarrettlisting.htm (320) Any ideas?
P.S.S. I would imagine that they are talking about eng HP right? And John which turbo you used before you got the new one.

atp is an awsome company. They have supported the Audi and SRT communities for some time with great service and products!

although you might have decided already, i will say that i think the GT28 is the better turbo for your car...

The GT28 is too small.

Thats what i thought but why do you think that it will be better for my car canadianballer? It looks like that it maxes out at 300-330. Even tho i don't want to push anymore then 330whp at this point i don't want to have to max outt he turbo. I would rather have extra space with the turbo.
P.S. Hey John you know of a place where i can buy the GT2871r cheaper then a $1000? or to make it look better $999?

Anybody thinks i should go with another turbo?

The easiest way to do it is figure out what power level you want then get a turbo that'll do it.

For 330whp you'll need a turbo rated for 400hp .... turbo makers rate their turbo in FLYWHEEL power... in a perfect enviroment.

Number one is thanks John, it looks like you are the only one that wants to help me, ppl just don't understand that if i'm going to spend a grand just on a turbo, i want to get the right one. What i meant was is there a better turbo then garrett or is that the top? See I wanted a Garrett the day i started this and now i have a chance, but if there is a better one out there then i want the best one for the buck. All i know is that i want a ball bearing turbo, is Garrett the only one that has that? i don't think so. But for today i think i will go with a GT2871r, unless there is a good reason why i shouldn't.

You can always do a Turbonetics T3 super 60 stage 3.... its about the same thing (if you get the DBB upgrade) but its also the same price.

Personally... I wish I hadn't sold my GT2871r.

why not go lurk around on some of the turbo car forums........... there are enough of them now Scooby, DSM, Audi, heck Dodge even has/had one! Look at the older 300Z guys and the supra guys but remember they are either RWD or AWD. Personally I know alot of people like the GT28 or if you plan on simply dynoing the car the GT35 but you also need to look at your type/style of driving. Garrett is good and I've never heard any bad about Turbonetics either.
Personally I'm poor and have a Mitsubishi turbo (20G) on my car and its fine.....

I've been having the same debate about which turbo would be better for my setup. From the info I've gathered, it seems as tho the GT28R and GT28RS would be better for the street and the GT2871R would be better for drag racing. I know somewhere you can get the turbo for a BIT cheaper so pm me if your interested [:)]
