Is anybody here running a turboed foci with N2O and used it under full boost? Any bad things coming from putting the 2 together? And is it mostly based on how good your tune is?

I have a N20 with a freshly installed turbo, but I was warned not to run the two together without upgrading the internals, so I am keeping the Nitrous disconnected for now. The duratec can handle up to 12lbs of boost without any mods to the engine, but only if you're not also running the nitrous.

With a good setup you wont need the N20.... I have a hard enough time keeping traction the way it is.... well at least when I have pistons IN the motor.

Pistons do seem to help make more power.[chairfall] On topic nitrous and boost ,aren't we being just a bit greedy

man, nitrous and a turbo...talk about no traction!

I have a build eng so it can take the beating but traction ya that might be a prob. :-)

If the motor can handle the n2o AND boost, why not save the cost of the nitrous and just turn up the boost instead?

Reminds me of the Fast and the Furious. [thumbd]

Tom said he never used the N20 on his black car... it was there for looks.

^ i talked with wayne from hypnotic a long time ago and he said on his 10.9 run he was running a 50 shot for helping spool the t-bo...which, locke, is the reason you put the two together, many srt-4s and evo's use it to get better launches (given good grippers of course)

I understand that, I suppose I didn't understand the intent of the OP. (still don't) If you are running a GT-K500 on a 2.0l engine, you would want nitrous or something to get the turbo spooled. But that is something people wouldn't run on the street, usually. ($1400 turbo that won't make full boost until around 6000 isn't a very streetable turbo)

A great option for spooling large turbo's for launch is an anti-lag setup. Even a studderbox will help spool a turbo in a dig. They are both cheaper, and have many more benefits than a nitrous setup.

If he need nitrous to spool his turbo, then hey, no problem there. But if he is running a 14b, or even a 16g, he won't need help spooling the turbo, in which case running nitrous on top of boost for extra power is a waste on money.

Toms 10.9 run was with the WHITE ZX3 not the BLACK SVT...

I agree.
