I guess I did not have any idea how cool we were compared to other people in the world. That little revving competition makes me wish I had my friend Joe's balanced and blueprinted 440 over there. He laid a brick on the gas pedal one night when some idiot thought he could out-rev Joe's car instead of out running it. I don't think I heard any of those cars revving past 6k. I'd love to crash it with a real motor, although I think I saw an old Skyline in there.

I was just laughing at what kinda cars they did this to, I swear I saw a couple of old Buick Regals in there.

i watched about 30 seconds...turned off the sound and watched a little more...then turned it off. lots of big and boxy body kits, not to mention giant exhausts coming from strange places.

This type of thing has been going on for years in Japan. Some people modify their cars to go fast while others modify them to look crazy. It's just an art form, it's not like those huge exhaust pipes sticking over the car or the overly exaggerated body kits are helping performance. Keep searching and you'll find videos of this stuff that goes way back. It's nothing new.

Omg i swear one car looked like a catfish with [:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)]g huge ass whiskers (the tail pipes which were ironically erupting from the hood and going 12 feet up in the air). I hope what i am seeing does not represent all of the so-called Japanese elegance or at least what i envision their cars would seem like - considering the great deal we value them here. These are horrible. Made me laugh some cause they look like morons. I could emulate any car in there by making a strange body from card board boxes and mount it on my lawn mower.

That trend is quite old in Japan. I forget what it's actually called but as you can see. It's about sheer excess, not performance by any means. I think it's kinda cool. Nothing I would ever do but seeing a different form of modding cars is refreshing from the norm.
