Thinking about trading my car in to get an '03 or so SVT, but not sure if new focus will be launched here or not? Are we overdue on a high performing compact redesign? Something that can go toe to toe with the new VW gti or something like that? I'd be curious to find out!

I wouldn't wait on it for a new car.

If there is one coming, it'll prolly be 2010+, since the 08s are already done and I don't have enough respect for Ford anymore to anticipate one in just a year.

Buy an SVT now, it's a GREAT car. If you love your zx3 now, the svt will be a hard contender to part with.

And if a new model performance one does come in, just do a trade-in.

If you're looking for SVT performance go for it! You won't get is out of the '08 redesign since the mechanicals won't change (except for the worse - you won't be able to get the 2.3L). If you don't get the '03 you're next shot will be at least 2010... <sigh>
