Turbo there is NO supercharger going to give you the TQ or HP that a turbo will

There are 3 different Routs to go I wouldn't go with anything besides one of these three (ex. gude presion etc.)

The Jackson Racing Supercharger (JRSC) is a low power supercharger it doesn't put out large numbers (only about 5 psi of boost) its good for an every day driver because it is super reliable It will change your 0-60 times to somewhere around 6.5 at best
Price - $2,795.00
www.jacksonracing.com

The Vortech Supercharger is a higher power supercharger it puts out very large hp numbers(they claim something like 250-270) but low torque numbers (200) It is running somewhere around 8-10psi This is a fairly priced and good kit that will give you alot of power. If you get this kit your car is gonna be fast (my guess is 1/4's in the mid to high 13's)
Price - $4,722.95
www.vortechsuperchargersonline.com

Tom's Turbo Kit is the most highly promoted way to go for forced induction although it is high in price you get what you pay for High hp and torque numbers (I think something like 240 hp and torque at 9psi on pump gas) Simply stated if you get this turbo your car is gonna haul ass
(My guess is 1/4's in the low 13's or high 12's)
Price - $5800[:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)] (Not Installed)
Add $750 for Installation w/Dyno Tuning

I would also suggest getting a Limited Slip Differential (the quaife)

QUOTE "but for the price of the turbo i could get the supercharger and awhole lot more."

Altho this is true you still would not have the TQ or HP that my turbo kit will give you, Then you would of spent all that money added all those parts and wishing you would of gone turbo

Ok, now...... which supercharger is better. I heard the jackson is more reliable, and that the vortech isnt, and can cause some serious damage to your engine.

I have heard of 2 engine's blowing cause of the vortech, but they were both the owners faults, one misshifted, other got crazy with boost (from what I understand) I have also heard of one guy blowing his motor with JRSC, also his fault, he got crazy with boost. I have yet to hear of anyone blowing there motor up with Tom's kit, but you very well could buy getting crazy with boost.

id really like the turbocharger, just i dont know if its worth the money. right now i think its either the turbo or the jrs.

I'd go turbo, more power.

The jrsc it a total waste of time in my opinion it does little to add power and almost nothing for TQ

If you feel you have to go supercharger go with the Vortech

I agree. Even a newb like me can see from the dyno charts that the JR blower gives horrible bang for the buck. If their SC cost $1,000, I might buy it. Seriously! It would have to be that cheap to be worth it to me.

As for SVT turbos...

I just bought a copy of SCC (Sport Compact Car) this morning. It's got a writeup of their SVT project car, and get this - they're adding the Precison Turbo kit. Never mind that the Precision kit is meant for the regular Zetec, or that these guys admittedly didn't even bother to buy a factory service manual (so they had no clue how even the stock components fit together). Yikes!

This has the potential to be absolutely hilarious, IMO. I can't wait to see what these guys do when it comes time to tune this thing. To their credit, they are aware that the kit's included Superchip won't work, but they don't seem too troubled by that.

I've posted about SCC's complete incompetence before, and another member TRIED to call me out on it, but I stand by my original opinion of these guys - they're morons!

But like I said, this should be funny as hell.

[rofl]

i really would like to go with turbo, but its just way to much money. 6 grand doesnt fly right with me. I still have alot of thinking to do. How much hp and tq does the turbo add? and same question for the vortech sc?

I personally can't see how any choice could be between the JRSC and Toms turbo. They are night and day. People who want one, are usually not even in the market for the other.

If you want big power EVER, then you cannot get the JRSC. If you will be happy with 200whp, then the JRSC is a great choice.

Now Vortech vs Toms kit is a reasonable comparison. While Toms puts out more torque, the Vortech puts out the same whp roughly and torque is about 190, so it's not horrible! If you have the money, and CARB is not something you're trying to consider, than Tom's kit is the way to go, if you dont have the money and will be happy with 200whp, then the JRSC. If you are looking for something in the middle, then Vortech :)

looks like he's too popular this month... it should be back up on Saturday at the latest (since I'm guessing it's monthly bandwidth usage that he's exceeded). Hopefully they'll just up their allowed usage.
