I didn't bother to lookup other threads, but here you go! Went to the Cleveland Auto Show today, Friday March 2. heres a few crappy pics I took of the new focus design. I think it looks horrible.[thumbd]

That hood looks like the one on my old '98 Mystique (pronounced MISTAKE). And shouldn't the trunk cut line fit with the taillights, ala Chrysler 300C? And that little bit of bling on the fenders, not buying that either.

I'm not liking this at all.

It really looks like they're trying to appeal to a 26 year old that wants a "higher end" car but has no income for it. Who are they trying to fool? Us... or themselves?

I still going to take a good look at them when they hit the showroom. I can understand a need for consistency between all the cars so I'm giving the designers a chance to sway me.

Call me a retard... but I kinda dont mind it. I would like to see a picture with the doors closed. But you can tell they are trying to make it look like the Accord. It kinda has that SX 2.0/Accord look to it.

It kinda has that SX 2.0/Accord look to it.

And therein lies my problem with it.

The Focus will now suffer from the "Is it a Maxima or is it an Altima" syndrome. I think the biggest shame (and I blame our sports centric public school system for it) is that American designers don't see the mistake that the Japanese manufacturers made in the late 90's to early 2000's which they are now trying to get away from with re-designs that clearly identify one line from another.

What new stupid idea will American designers look at while corraling their ideas over lattes at Starbucks surfing on Yahoo and say ".. that's absolutely FABULOUS daaaahling" to show off their worldliness??

i saw it at the chicago autoshow, didnt take a pic of it, wasnt really worth it to me, but the front llooks alright, but the sedan is to boring!, wish they had a coupe of it there, but the 07 st i was more appealed to w/sap

i might test drive one if i bring my 07 in for work and they have one on the lot, and have fun with it all the ice interior stuff, but meh

It has a nice interior... It's not that bad, just not a focus.
