I am switching to synthetic oil tomorrow morning. The dealership only uses motorcraft synthetic, and I want Mobil 1. I can bring my own oil, but how many quarts of oil do I buy? Anything else I should know?

I have a 2002 SVT Focus with 8,400 miles on the clock.

Thanks!

5 quarts, but you'll only need 4 1/2 (one for each cylinder and 1/2 for the filter). It's easy to do yourself, and will save you a lot of money in the future doing it yourself (if your dealership isn't doing it for free....I know some places offer that now)

off topic: I think most V8 engines only use 5 quarts...It's a pretty standard amount.

I have heard that the 'Amzoil' is the best Synthetic oil available.

I just put Mobil 1 synthetic in my car this morning. I'll keep you updated.

I swiched to mobil 1 sythetic 2 changes ago... I've noticed a difference. Dont know if this'll sound wierd or not, but I noticed an improvement in throttle response since switching, I dont get that "hesitation" that alot of people complain about anymore.
