Someone had asked to hear a sound clip of my SVTF after installing the CFM Hi Flow cat so I grabbed my phone and recorded a short clip of it after driving home from work today.

FYI- This is a stock SVT focus exhaust with only a high flow cat. Other mods include a drop in K&N, and Diablosport Tune from Tom.

Sounds good compared to my car.

The sound is a little more exagerrated than it really is when standing outside the car... I put my phone about 1.5 ft away from the muffler when recording because I wasn't sure how sensitive the mic on my phone was.

I'll try and update with a better recording tomorrow.

That sounds ruff. Mine doesn't sound anything like that, but maybe it's the camara phone.

yeah i think the sampling was bad. I have head an ORP with stock exhaust and it sounded better than that.

omg dude please delete that link lol. the audio was terrible and made the high flow cat sound bad.

FYI, it might sound slightly like it's falling apart because of the popping it does on decel after blipping the throttle. In person it sounds great, not ricey at all really... The only way I can describe it is that it sounds like a rally car. The same sort hollow deep tone on accel, and then the nice snap, crackle, pop on decel[thumb]

Yeah just take the recording from a normal distance of like 5-6 feet from the back of the car, offset to the side a bit. Recording exhaust tone from a foot away from the tip is not a realistic representation of the sound. [:)]

Here's a better representation of the sound.

I set it off to side of the car about 3-4ft so it didn't distort the sound as much.
