I feel i have the best SVT out there , No you cannot use the NA Custom tune for NOS

My Predator cost 375.00 and 20.00 for shipping and comes with my custom tune and free updates to the tune

Tom's tune dynos a few hp higher than the other tunes I've seen on the same vehicle. SVTs are strange, some come stronger than others. And yeah, the off the line bogging is GONE! I love my tune from Tom

i think im going to order toms tune next week and tom how do i pay and do i have to give u any numbers off my car and are there tunes to choose from.Hit him up with a PM, might wanna consider any other mods you want to do first (cai, etc..) Im sure Tom can adjust the tune to get more out of the mods.

I don't think cai, K&N etc, will affect the tune too much. Probably not even an ORP... any combos of these will probably be on the same tune.

If you go for cams or bigger throttle bodies then that's when you need to change the tune a bit.

I ordered Tom's tune as well. I am looking forward to the gas mileage improvement more than anything else. I am currently getting about 26 mpg -- heck a Dodge Magnum RT wagon gets that!

^lucky I only get 20

does the tune give better mpg?

scrammer
03-04-2007, 04:57 PM
he leans it out a bit. hense less fuel is being injected. this will obviously create better MPG. and of course he can make the car take advantage of whatever mods you have.

I did Tom's tune and I couldn't be happier, already over 6 months with no problems. Best 380 I ever spent on my car. [thumb]

I say go for Tom's tune.

^^^If you can find someone that knows how to tune an SVTF in Spokane, I'll come join you.
However, that's going to be highly unlikely.
I doubt you'll find anyone there that will come up with a better tune than one of Tom's.
Now, maybe having a Spokane shop talk to Tom first and find out what's needed would help,
but noone is going to do that for free.

I didn't either, but it was easy to set it up. You can either pay him with a pay pal account or just send him a check. His address is on www.focus-power.com, and the price is $275 plus the $20 shipping charge I believe.

can tom's tune revert back to factory tune with ease?

Focistang85
03-12-2007, 10:00 AM
Yes, when the tune is loaded, the factory tune is saved in it's place. Kinda just like a swap. If you wanna change your headlights, you take the old ones off and put the new ones on, then if you wanna go back, just get'em and put'em on. It's the same process back and forth.

KahunaB14

I ask again...

Can someone point me to a Tom's Tune dyno before and after? He does his tunes on a Dyno so I cannot believe that there isn't one floating around here or at least on Tom's hard drive. Yes, I know everyone has a different car with different HP/TQ from the factory, but that is why I am asking for a before and after.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE?? (Pretty Please)

Focistang85

I don't believe I've seen one on here. . . . .

Actually, I was about to say the opposite...Most people only dyno about 140whp stock. Are you thinking this is crank HP??

Focistang85
03-15-2007, 11:05 AM
No but from what I've heard, the SVTF on average dynos in the 150s whp stock/ They did good on how much HP you lost.

focus svt, cams are MUCH more trouble than they're worth on the SVTF.

This recent thread has all your answers except where to get cams made:
http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=113462
Stock cam specs are about 1/2 way into it.

Focistang85:
More often than not, stock SVTFs are around 140-145whp.
There's 2 in this thread at 144.
http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=101162

And...I agree about the cams being more trouble than they're worth.
IIRC, the most that FocusSport ever got (before they gave up) was 15hp max.
There's also ZXTuner, but I don't think their cams ever got off the ground:
http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=71278

EDIT:
It just occured to me that ZXTuner is no longer a sponsor of the site, and his forum area has been moved to the Recycle Bin.
You probably won't be able to see the thread. [:(]

Well, they do an AWESOME job with what HP they have.
Yes, I would agree with that!

It's too bad that ZXTuner's cams never got out there.
No one wanted to buy them without a dyno showing the improvements.
I'm not sure why he didn't bite the bullet and do a one off set to get a dyno.
Plenty of people offered up there cars. [dunno]
Most likely (as FocusSport) there just wasn't enough gain to justify the expense.
We do have some rather large cams as it is...

Focistang85
03-15-2007, 01:14 PM
Most definately.

Tune is the best HP you can gain without going F/I. Worth it IMO
