i work at a Sam's Club in the Tire and Battery center, we just got updated battery books from energizer and looking thru it today i decided to look at the focus (of course) and to my surprise one of the choices was for a 2003-2005 2.0 Z-Tech, im not kidding now all the batterys listed are the same 40R which is another thing at blows my mind out batterys are 500cca this one is rated at 590cca which is good but the size of the 40R vs. stock is quite a bit larger when a 47 is the same dementions as the stock battery and also 590cca.

Seems like they may have misprinted their own specifications. Well at least you found some info. I was shopping for a battery at Wally World and the guides that they had hanging at the display didn't even list an option for both USDM Foci engines. There were just dashes all the way across the page.

battery size from the book is 40R which does fit but is larger than the stock, where a 47 is the size of the stock battery with the same power of the 40R
