Do I need to have my stock 2004 SVTF re-programed by the dealer if I disconnect my battery?
If so, do I need to find a SVT Dealer to do it?
The owners manual just says to let it idle for a minute after disconnecting the battery, but it seems that I have read something different on this site. Of course, I can't find the info now.
Thanks for any info at all.

Nope, no need for a reflash you should be good to go.
Certain parameters are reset by disconnecting the battery, but they are things that the ECU "learns" as you run the car on a daily basis. Your tune stays the same though regardless.

As mentioned, there's no problem with a battery disconnect.
You did state the most important aspect though...the idle.
When you start it up the first time, have all accessories turned off, and let it idle for at least 2-3 minutes to be safe.
You mentioned, "I have read something different on this site", you may be referring to the OBDII Drive Cycle:

its good to disconect the battery anytime you do work with your engine too, the ECU re-learns with the new mod and can help you feel overall effectivness of the mod.

Thanks for the answers!! I feel a lot better knowing this. I'm still getting used to owning a car with all these sensors. I really don't like all the electronic controls, but I sure love driving this car!
I think LIKwid ZX5 was right when he stated that I must be thinking of a VW because I did hear of this happening to a VW when I was car shopping.
I'm sure glad that I stumbled upon a Ford SVTF before I bought a GTI.

i've heard plenty of horror stories about the eletronics on a VW, which keeps me from ever wanting one.
