Again..I haven't seen it from other shots so it might be hideous but...I think it looks decent from this angle
soooo WHAT IS IT??
OandAWOW 01-31-2007, 10:16 PM Next gen Spectra? Concept Spectra? It deff looks like a Spectra though...
aus.spec 01-31-2007, 10:21 PM Some sort of concept probably, it'd look great if it wasn't for the three letters on the front.
FocusInAlaska 01-31-2007, 10:38 PM Kia Sports Concept
http://www.edmunds.com/news/autoshow/articles/103045/page021.html
Concept car, 200hp turbo motor.
turbovation 02-01-2007, 01:08 PM thanks FIA! I agree about the whole KIA letters in the front (edit) AND THE automatic transmission can suck some chocolate salty ballz
DarkHorse 02-01-2007, 02:17 PM I actually like the looks of the new spectra5, but knowing it is a KIA is still frightning.
jrgtrain 02-01-2007, 02:41 PM It looks like a sportier version of the Kia Rio 5. Looks good. Don't under estimate Kia. They are coming up. Maybe not this year or next, but soon. They have come a long way in a short time. I am not on the waiting list for one but I just thought I would give my 2 cents. Go Focus!.
mmmoose 02-01-2007, 02:42 PM This is what happens when a ZX5 Focus and Yaris Liftback mates.
WitchCitySVT 02-01-2007, 06:24 PM Looks good and 200hp. Too bad it's a Kia and is going to break the first time you launch hard.
Techjunkie 02-01-2007, 06:27 PM Looks good and 200hp. Too bad it's a Kia and is going to break the first time you launch hard.
lol true.
mmmoose 02-01-2007, 06:54 PM I really dig the styling, but like everyone else I'd feel a little uneasy buying a Kia. Same with Hyundais. I know quite a few people that own 'em and love 'em, but I just can't bring myself to buying one. I just can't! When it comes to something as expensive as a car, it's next to impossible for me to go with something that I'm not familiar with (or has some type of reputation).
DrkKnight614 02-01-2007, 07:15 PM hmm, looks 10 times better then the new focus....i hate to say it, but go KIA
turbovation 02-01-2007, 07:59 PM Yeah! Ford could take a few lessons from KIA eh?!
WitchCitySVT 02-01-2007, 09:26 PM It's sad that Kia came out with a 200hp sport compact before Ford.
mmmoose 02-01-2007, 09:37 PM It's clear to me that American car companies have absolutely NO interest in providing the US with sporty subcompact cars anymore, despite the fact that gas prices are ridiculously high. They're just way too damn stubborn with their pickup trucks and SUVs, and they're STILL fixated with them despite terrible sales figures. But none of this is really news to anybody.
I think at this point we'll need to rely on the European and Asian market to help bring some worthwhile compacts over, even if it includes Kia. I wouldn't crap on Kia's name completely, because as I said the styling is very good and that's something we really need in the American market right now (even indirectly, by offering some influence).
On a side note, I also got a chance to check out the hatchback 2007 Hyundai Accent, and it was surprisingly comfortable and well built. I still prefer the styling of the Focus over it, but Hyundai certainly has really come a long way in quality and comfort...
03zx3forme 02-01-2007, 10:06 PM yeah, it looks good..
jmotank 02-01-2007, 10:19 PM looks good. the regular spec isn't bad but has no balls. but don't dog kia too bad. my wife and i have a kia sorento suv and it's great. got a nice ride with alot of options for a decent price. i really like the styling of it too. they do make some decent vehicles and i believe they are definately on a come up. when they first came to the u.s. i figured they would sink fast, but the have gotten better. they have a bad azz truck overseas that they are suposed to bring to the u.s. within a couple years.
Klondike 02-01-2007, 10:33 PM wow i like how it looks and a turboed engine, not to shabby as long as you got the warranty ill say its ok, but 1 year after you have it the value will go down afew thousand eaily[hihi]
turbovation 02-02-2007, 12:29 PM They should have a 13 years, 130,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty...then I'de buy it for sure[;)]
WitchCitySVT 02-02-2007, 07:26 PM I'm gonna cry the day my SVT get smoked by a Kia.[bawling]
heelflip101 02-02-2007, 07:36 PM Oh that will be they day when this pulls on me, I'll sell my car and get a bike. Every time someone asks what happen to my car, I'll mumble something about the environment and the world coming to the end. Sorry I just don't like KIA.
tnealley 02-02-2007, 08:09 PM looks nice i like the yellow
Sinan 02-03-2007, 04:58 AM Looks good and 200hp. Too bad it's a Kia and is going to break the first time you launch hard.
but why should you worry? those things come with 10 year warranty. you can do everything to it and still have no worries. the stuff I did to my dad's hyundai is unbelievable, and every time warranty covered it.
turbovation 02-03-2007, 11:56 AM Don't worry it won't...it's an automatic and it's only 200 hp.
not to mention it doesn't exist.
On another note...I bet that little V6 mini-SUV they have is pretty quick!
