I was just thinking. What are we going to do when the 08 Focus owners start showing up here? Do they get their own section? Are we going to treat them like the redheaded step child of the focus world or welcome them with open arms?

Of course they will be welcomed.

Not that I would bash them ,but alot of us have spent quite a bit of time hating on their car. I think it's kinda funny to think of the owners of that car being members here.

Exactly what I was thinking, I second the notion.....

yeah, i happen to be one of those 05 owners that joined when i first baught it in 04. lots of 05 polls and bashing back then, but not so much now. it's all good. it will just take some time to mesh just as us 05 and ups!!

I hope they dont come for technical help too much... It looks like a LOT of things have changed (hint hint rear brake design I hope...). For a while it will just be like "go out to your car and see if it looks like "this"... then we can help you/then we cant."

I will still have a decreased appreciation and general dislike for the decision makers at Ford at least as far as they have handled the focus since 2004.

I wouldn't be mad at the '08 owners, necessarily, although by buying this car they will be saying "please keep offering us low quality and poor design, and let us pay through the nose for it, please...please."

I'd like to welcome them with open arms and help them where ever I could even though there's no similarity between my car and theirs at all. But I can't help but agree with rofreder in kind of looking down on them a little because they decided to buy the '08. I think that if anyone really wanted to modify a focus they'd be smart enough to get an older design and the ones on here who need to buy new would know enough to buy outside of ford. I hate to say it but that's how I feel.

Just like Carmen said, we did the same when the 05+ came out. I'm sure we will get use to the re-design (It may take some time though, LOL) and welcome them to the site and hope they stay.

honeslty most of them that do come here will have the coupe style, but i thinka majority of people buying this car are gonna be the older crowd, 40's 50's so yea, bu ti stilla gree with carmen, tey'll be accept......................eventually

I will be glad to see them come. The more that people are interested in the focus, the better the chances of seeing different models and engine options. Also think that Ford needs to cut costs now so they will simplify everything for the next couple of years to get them back on their feet. It would not surprise me in the least if in 3-5 years you either see the focus taking off, or a new car with a different name to replace it.
