Sometimes my car seems to be faster than other times. Why is this. I have a intake, race header, cat back, flex pipe, plug wires, plugs, and a chip. I didnt get the outcome I wanted. Do I need a throttle body???? Does anyone else experience this issue? I want more from my 2.0 DOHC engine.

What outcome are you trying to acheive? If you want more from your 2.0 DOHC then keep on modding and yes, a TB would be a very nice addition to your current mods. You might also look into a UDP if you don't already have one.

What kind of intake do you have?
If you have a shorty, it's gonna depend on the weather.

Air temperatures (slower in high heat), road conditions (wet vs. dry, loose pavement, etc.) and so on all play a part in this, too. It is also entirely possible that it's all in your head, the human brain is not a very accurate "dyno" if you know what I mean.

I had a cold air but water was sucked into my engine and blew it. I bought a mac intake. I now have a new engine.

could be just in your head I feel the same way sometimes.

and don't forget elevation change

Yup, when you get to higher elevation, your car actually looses some horsepower. It has something to do with the molecules in the air or something like that.

Higher elevation = less dense air. The lower the density of the air the less power you will be able to make.
This is directed at motorcycles and go-karts, but the explanation is true for any car, too:

I feel like that too sometimes. I don't think its weather.. or air pressure... I just think its mental.
Sometimes it feels fast.. and sometimes it don't
Sometimes you feel like a nut... and sometimes you don't.... ;)
